I seriously don't see this game lasting much longer anymore. CCP is going to start taking away vehicles and BPO's from a community that is already sick and tired of this "Rollercoaster of Hell" development strategy (screw-ups are so consistant, that it's like it intentional).
Good luck CCP, seriously.
If player counts/retention, shockingly, do not begin improving by the end of this year, I would hope that you would take the game offline for at least a couple of years or more in order to privately develop dust for the next generation. That would give plenty of time for the PS4 installed base to grow, and lets face it CCP, you were never going to see even 1% of the 80 million PSN users anyway.
New, stronger hardware would breathe new life in this game with improved graphics and performance. But most importantly, taking dust offline and then moving dust to the ps4 will give you guys room to screw up without ruining the games reputation. You guys are still clueless as to how a fun FPS is made and you guys NEED time to be able to make mistakes and learn from them WITHOUT ruining what's left of Dust's reputation.
Take what you learned here, these past two years, and use this experience to finally give people a game people will be playing for years. And when people visit the DUST 514 booth at E3 2017, you could take your place right beside Final Fantasy XIV: ARR as another great comeback story. Both Dust 514 and Final Fantasy XIV received terrible reviews upon release and complaints of bugs/glitches. The general consensus is that they are both unfinished games....
...So take Dust offline, rebuild it for the PS4, market it as an undeniable improvement from the ps3 version, ???, and profit.

As far as vehicles go, they made it infinitely times harder on themselves than it had to be. Threads like this show exactly how selective CCP is when it come to player feedback. They seem to forget that the players can put far more hours into their game than they ever could and it clearly shows when it comes time for them to balance ANYTHING. |

Just because a panda grew an inch this month, does not mean it won't become extinct in the near future.
Besides, it's the weekend and it's not that much high than normal. I'd be impressed if they could maintain 4000, with a peak of 5000. Bonus points for an actual steady growth trend (not a stagnant playerbase). |

The platform is orthogonal to all the issues we're facing with DUST. Google the hard words in my previous sentence before replying.
Also a glimpse from software development world: "rewrite" has bigger chance to kill a project, than leaving in on PS3 and letting people like you go play PS4 titles. It can also impact the company and not in a good way. Pulling a game with player base from a platform, to develop it for new platform for **** knows how long is not a viable solution economically, first and foremost. And BS about "saving what's left of DUST reputation" is brain dead. If this game is pulled out then it is no more. There is no game. Reputation is all that is left. And reputation for discontinued products means two things: jack & ****. And in two years, when it's re-released, it's long forgotten, because people have moved on. Also two years without user feedback and bug reports. Great idea.

orthogonal A word used by the tech-savvy to sound smarter than they really are.
More specifically:
A math term that means perpendicular, but not just in 2D but in any dimension. Now commonly used to indicate an idea or concept that stands apart so much from everything else that it "sticks out," is "from left field," or is "third-way." "I have this co-worker who keeps using the word 'orthogonal,' usually after he mentions some idea he thinks is God's gift to man. Can't wait to get this word into my vocab. Soon as I figure out what it means." - Urban Dictionary
Anyway, where do I begin? "It's long forgotten" Yeah, no. You do not know that. FFXIV proves otherwise. Also, i'm not suggesting the completely discontinue the game. I'm suggesting a rebirth, unless CCP has a trick up their sleeve to get rid of the negative stigma they've created for themselves. I highly doubt the latter.
And the whole thing about 2-3 years without user feedback and bug reports? Easily remedied with PS4/PSN developer friendly patching/QA system. You want to know the hard truth?
A tiny player base's opinions are not a suitable substitute for competent developers. I'm talking, CCP Shanghai needs a total overhaul. Just like Square Enix did.

Yeah, I was about to say. ARR is the sequel that has remarkably improved reviews. I know more people playing ARR than Dust, in real life (actually none of my friends play dust).
The reason why I keep bringing up ARR is because I want to showcase that a rebirth is theoretically possible.
Now, I know it's up to CCP's financial situation, but i'm just giving my input. If rebuilding this game on the ps4 is financially possible, then they should move forward with that.
If it is not possible at all, in any way shape or form... then I hope everyone enjoys being milked on a sinking ship. |

something else they should do is allow a one time respec per character you have rather them setting a timeline and saying if you missed it or started playing the game after the last one did well to bad. I just do not understand why you cant get one respec so you can undo mistake you did when you first stated the game. I just feel like they have no idea what they are doing. I feel like anyone could do a better job running this game then ccp is doing now
Edit: One Idea for the repsec is to reward players for playing the game, base it on life time skill points. Set Milestones i.e when you get to 15 Million lifetime sp you have the choice to respec if you want it and go from there. |

Overhaul CCP's QA department.
Open a beta for players to play-test.
After the official re-release, CCP could still take advantage of the PS4's new developer friendly patching/QA system to squash bugs after release. |
