Maybe I can get into more competitive fights as a lolHMG heavy to be proven wrong, again.
Still want to try out my energizer/regulator/repairer build and really break the mold!
I've tried to break the mold man - I've got SP on shields and other mods I wish I could have back. I've got 30 something suit set ups just for CB's alone trying to do everything possible.
And the diminishing return is 1% off. So two mods is 19%. Or so it was a few months ago. CCP stealth nerfs enough to make a ninja blush. |

Third module is 57% effective
Fourth module is 28% effective
2 complex damage mods should be 18.7% . I will accept 19% as close enough if you round to the nearest integer.
I just want to use something different lol. Why is the GD freedom hmg so high on fitting requirments.

You're right on the first part, but wrong on the second.
Modules stack multiplicatively not additively. So the math would be as follows:
1 * 1.1 * (1+(.87*.1)) = 1.1957 or 19.57% increase which effectively rounds to 20%.
You shouldn't be so hasty in calling people a dumbass, sir. |

There is diminishing returns. It's just not as apparent with the second module. For example, you'd get a 21% increase instead of 19.57% if there wasn't DR. Compare that to a third module though, in which case you'd get 33.1% instead of 26.3% without diminishing returns.
And it's only complicated if you failed basic algebra in school. |

Damage mods are 10% increase. In other words, the multiplier is 1.1x.
Without DR, the math would simply go: 1 (base damage modifier) * 1.1 * 1.1 = 1.21 or 21%.
Everything in DUST and EVE is multiplier based. Including skills. So, for example, your Engineering and Core Upgrades skills stack multiplicatively. Meaning if you had both Core Upgrades (5% to CPU/PG) maxed and Engineering (25% increase) it would actually be a 31.25% increase to PG (1.05 * 1.25) and not a flat 30%. It may not seem much different, but it certainly makes a difference when it comes to big numbers like Forge Gun damage or what have you. |

Played a PC yesterday, first one in a while.. and goddamnit if scout suits are the bane of my existance. I'm far from the best out there, but with the lag and minor hit detection issues I couldnt get consistent hit markers on them while they zig-zaged their way into my killzone and blasted me with shottys, or snuck up behind me with the same results, or core locus grenaded to death. I didnt see a single Heavy/HMG on the other team either.
Am I just a total scrub or do you other heavies experience the same issues?

You're probably too aggressive in your pushes. Scouts go down so quickly it makes me wonder if they really have a purpose. You may need a second suit identical to your main PC suit with the six kirin burst/breach? hmg, one tap and a scout goes down. Boundless for going to outer objectives.
I guess it's mostly just terrain knowledge and knowing when to and not to move into combat against others. But lately even I feel like fodder with everyone on the roofs with ARs and Forges. Not much we can do about it but put SP into a decent DS and go after 'em. |
