Not really. I do not support a lot of what EoN did durring the war like locking districts. I have no place to call home without Imps, so I'm just enjoying myself till I find one. |

It has a place in PC though, put a sniper rifle on, and swarm launcher, and nano. Just make another identical suit with up-links so when you die the first time to counter snipe you can spawn back in with nanos.

While I have your attention.. what mods do you typically run in an HMG ground n pound suit? I was messing around with energizers and regulators before I took a break, seemed nice to have about 30hp/s with recharge delay rates about the same as an assault suit before mods.
I was running 2x extenders, 2x plates and a repairer yesterday.. it worked, just curious if there are any other setups that are viable these days.
Edit: Also is it true the rumors I heard of AE using rooftop forge gunners backed by a logi lav repairing them? also with Remote Explosives on the ground in case any other DS's land? If so thats bananas |

If so thats bananas It's not true - they just have 1 guy who loves his RE's. And it's impossible to put a LLAV onto any viable forgesnipe roofs.
And I run with 2x damage mods - shields are a lol joke vs vets as a heavy. Good luck avoiding fluxes. My suit is 2x complex armor and 1 complex repair with 2 complex damage mods. Kill them before they kill you and rely on good footwork and situational awareness. Though some maps with roofs everywhere you'd wish for more shield. -.-
I can equip full proto on all slots though, hear not many can. :\ |

You can get LLAV's on some of the rooftops. Seems like they may have done that to our corp in a fight at some point. found it amusing as if rooftop forge gunners werent OP enough once they get camp setup.

AH HA!!! That is true, but the adv/proto Flux's have a larger blast radius. minor benefit but still an improvment, tho I hear what you are saying.
what sidearm do you use? SMG?
And I take it you have every skill maxed regarding fitting optimization, CPU/PG, etc?
With my measily 17m SP I cant do that yet /sadface |

Anywho - my sidearm is flaylock so that I can be more versatile in my options when fighting. SMG is just another HMG, only good for when you need to reload but someones coming. Flaylock on the other hand opens up more possibilities when you encounter someone.
But for people who aren't confident in there aiming SMG is the way to go. |

Your claims to fitting makes sense if you run a flaylock instead of an SMG. Havent used one in ages but it is a skill shot weapon. May start running one again now that they have fixed some of the lag/hit detection problems.
Its funny you say people who arent confident in their aiming should run SMG, I always thought that about people who run damage mods |

Its a timeless argument really... in your corner you are against shield extenders due to flux grenade spam, pro damage mods for taking down enemies faster.
in the other corner one could be pro bulk health for longevity, good aim means target will die regardless of a small increase to dps. for example.. 50 bullets [no dmg mods] vs 44 bullets [2 damage mods] to take down an enemy with 1k hp.
So if you have good aim, the added damage wont really benefit you as much as bulk hit points will in the survival department, imo. I never really had an issue with losing shields to flux nades in PC, whereas you might have a different experience playing against different opponents. Just kinda silly to disregard the usefulness of extenders as you stated earlier, especially when the argument against them is a situational one at best. |

The argument centers around HMG with it's annoying spray and high high RoF - even 10% makes a big difference to how fast someone goes down if you shoot 250 bullets in 2 seconds. But I'm getting 20% and fighting in places where majority of my bullets land. I've faced heavies who use shield extenders - they never win. It's from the experience and number crunching I decided going shield was a bad idea and just stack armor.
The only benefit shield gives is when the other side is spamming MD's. imo |

Gawd you are such a noob... 2 complex damage mods doesnt give you 20%.. you forgot about DIMINISHING RETURNS dumbass.
j/k I see your point.. I still like my eHP better than your pewpew mods... but you did remind me of how much I enjoyed the flaylock before it was OPFOTM
Maybe I can get into more competitive fights as a lolHMG heavy to be proven wrong, again.
Still want to try out my energizer/regulator/repairer build and really break the mold! |
