I believe that with the upcoming changes to vehicles, they should add a logistics HAV ti the mix
I believe that this would be a good idea and give HAV users a STRONGER tank that goes above and beyond the HP of your standard Madrugar or Gunlnogi.
That or make the Tank built for support and healing other vehicles. Give it a bonus such as:
Logistics HAV bonus: +5% Reduction to Shield Transporter and Remote Armor Repairer per level Gallente Logistics HAV bonus: +5% efficiency to Remote Armor Repairers modules per level Caldari Logistics HAv bonus: =5% efficiency to Shield Transporter modules per level
And it would complete the set of logistics roles in this game. Meaning Logibro lovers like me will finally feel complete

I'd feel so complete

So true and when you do they rarely engage in battle from what I see. They are always parked on a hill sniping. That's why I asked for extra slots , computer and programming usage on all tanks. Sounds good and make since , but I don't think that they will do either of the ideas , because mines sound like it's too right and yours makes since , but that's why they give you the option of adding remote shield and armor , but who uses them??? Also that's why they made the logi LAV's. Try putting both on one tank and see how long you last. One is bad enough if you come across another tank , they will evaporate you. It's bad enough when your using a madrugar and get hit once and that shield goes half way down. That's why I don't use mines , but you have a good ideal , but they need extra slots and computer and programming usage or else you'll be in a boat load of crap.
It doesn't make since having mods that you can't even use ... at all. |

A vehicle that doesnt have anything but a small turret to defend itself, but has an ''equipment'' slot that lets me deploy mines in big quantities.
Say up to 20-30 mines or remote explosives.
Talk about true Area denial, Mined fields.... XD |

I like that Ideal. Not only mines but have a gun with the blast power of a forge gun as well. Miner = Forge gun. But they would also have to make a mine sweeper as well. Good Ideals guys. Let's see what comes out of it. |

I have a LAV that has both of the transporters and i support tanks when i can, one issue i have with the transporter is that like the repper you cannot see the health bars of the tank. |

In order to curb the threat of Logi tanks turning into the logi/assault suit equivalent (i.e., better at assault than assault suits), they should have
-lower stock CPU/PG to make it difficult to fit higher tier large turrets
-low base health for the need to add on defenses
-huge bonuses to shield extenders/boosters, armour plates/repairers, active longevity/ cool downs, and other defensive modules. And of course bonuses to shield transporters and remote repairers.
-Perhaps a damage reduction percentage like the LLAV as well |

And we can't have low CPU/PG, as Heavy transporters and Remote Repairers require a lot of PG and CPU.

10 /15 / 2013 Really??? Well YOU are the ONLY one I know who does so. I played a game earlier ( one of the ONLY ones that I had won today ... oh wait we lost in the end because people became lazy ) and the tank had shield exchange on it.
I wonder how many hits you can take before you crumble??? Less than most I'm sure. |

You have a great Idea seeing as how I love my tanks and how they perform means a lot to me. More programming and computer usage for one. They really don't need to be stronger if they would add one or two extra slots , along with the programming and computer adjustments. The slots would add the strength and the adjustment would support it.
Even if they don't adjust the turrets like I suggested ( I asked for a slight adjustment to the computer and programming usage. Probably like a seven percent decrease. Ten is too much and five might not be enough of a change. ) The slots and adjustments would more than make up for it. These changes wouldn't make the tanks unstoppable like they or most would think. They would just increase the life slightly. Hell forge guns are more powerful than most if not all turrets , there only weakness if any , is that they are supported by a human and the charge time. Which the proto's actually don't take as long and their power is astounding. Proto swarms can destroy a tank in one volley without reloading , so that's three rounds.
For as many proto suits you see you would have to believe that there are not as many weapons but almost enough support proto weapons in some way or another , i.e . grenades , tact support , or hand held. A few regular a.v.'s can do a lot of harm , if you have two or three adversaries surrounding you. |

No. But my friend Ruunt has a tank with around 9-10k armor (but no armor repairers) . And I just use my tank to heal him back up when he's getting hit. It is really effective.
I salsa saw a derpship repping a tank in Ambush once as well .

That said, I would love to see MAVs and have a lot of the specific utility roles based on MAVs, like the T2 versions of cruisers in EVE.
Ideally, the game should have light, medium, and heavy vehicles at the very minimum. The basic versions of those different vehicles should be the groundwork for specific roles. As I said earlier, I would like to see the Logi role fall to the MAV.
The MOST IMPORTANT THING right now for Dust is to get the basic content of the game completed and released. That includes all four racial variants of light, medium, and heavy dropsuit frames and vehicles (ground and aerial.) |

Edit: Shameless plug for my thread. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=115819&find=unread Well actually, the Logi LAVs are used for light repair, and considering that the PG/CPU requirements on a Heavy Remote Repairer and Heavy Shield Transporters, No LAV will ever be able to fit one. Being Repped by an LAV is like having a light armor repairer on a 6000 Armor Madrugar or a 7000 shield Gunnlogi. I doesn't really help that much TBH.
A Logistics HAV would be different in the fact that it is a Support Vehicle capable of completely repairing vehicles effectively and efficiently.
Just imagine a Millitia Repair tool on a proto heavy.
And no Logi HAVs can and should co-exist with Logi LAVs.
The point of Logi LAVs is to do stuff best fitted for an LAV such as active scanning and stuff like that. |

It would probably fall into medium or at least to me it should be a medium vehicle with decent speed and good capacity for mines. I envision something with only a few slots on it say 3 mine slots each type of mine or RE being in quantities of 10 or so (depending on level of course) per slot. That way you can choose to carry either anti infanrty proximity based explosives intantry pressure (you have to step right on them or maybe be 1 meter away) and anti vehicle. |

I actually am a dedicated Tanker and AV. If a tank without hardners doesn't die by the 1st volley (which is rare) then they will definetly die with the 2nd and 3rd volley
But they aren't that much of a problem if you have dual hardners

Awesome idea to be honest, especially with the upcoming changes...Also if the ammo rep gets added aswell it would be really cool Been playing around with my soma tank ( im mainly dropship guy but this technique works best with ground vehicles). Have a heavy shield transporter for my friends tank and i keep him reped when he need's it and its really fun seeing av trying to kill him but cant do as fast as they are supposed to then they target my poor tank. Overall this adds a better teamwork and new ideas to the field also makes the game more fun.. I hope a dev looks at this post and shares with the other devs (im pretty sure they are thinking the same ideas with logis too, there probably just too busy atm). Anyways +1 and thank you for brinig this idea up..>Btw make the range little bit more especially for the dropships (its kinda hard having to get really close just to rep and give us back the ablilty to look at a vehicles armor/shield, cant do rep's on ds unless the assualt variant *which costs a lot*

Logi HAVS I think should depend on a few things repairing ranges and speed with a decent amount of tank. Speed allows them to escape danger and get to other vehicles for logistics. Repair range makes it so you don't have to be 5 meters behind a vehicle at all times and lets the logi HAV user some breathing space. All in all these things should probably get bonuses to rep tools, nitrous, vehicle speed, repair range and come with a standard amount of slots to fit some tank, pg mods and what not.
For Caldari and Amarr faction warfare join State Patriots and help us on the front.

this thread is old.....
although looking back at how our tanks r currently....changing that logistics hav idea a bit could work.... putting it into an infantry support area may work. and possibly give it the ability to support other vehicles as well.. i think the idea could still happen but changes would need to be made to it first. when look at the game currently. |
