30 million SP would have to be either logi, or HAV driver. And even with the logi you don't need to have all of the equipment trained to 5. I'm at about 18 million SP now, and I consider myself to have maxxed out a logi role because I have a proto suit, maxed out tanking skills, maxed out cpu / pg and the ability to use up every last bit of it. It now takes around 3 weeks worth of passive SP for me to get the most marginal of improvements out of my logi suit. Most of the things I could train now would be alternate logi roles. I have proto hives, but only advanced uplinks. I can put 4 of those links down at the same time though as long as I use a proto logi suit.
Rep tools...I've never trained those past level 1. I could dump a ton of SP into them, but it doesn't make any of my current logi suits any better. That's another side-grade. Logisitcs is an incredibly wide pool of skills, and you don't need all of them...just the ones that fit your play style. |

So, yeah, I don't think a reset was really needed. Besides, someone will always have more SP than you whether they did a reset or not; really isn't a huge deal.
Actually it takes about 15 mil to cap out on a specialized role like assault or logistics, but thats excluding all the extra stuff like kinectic mods, hacking, and profile damp/scan/range or other equipment.
Also it takes about 5-6 months to catch up to the top players in terms of gear. The average casual wont have that kind of patience. |

If a game is released and advertised as new why did new players run into a proto wall of vet players with 15m sp? I didn't give up. I continue to get better everyday but I will never be able to close the gap. I haven't noticed it in pub matches as I can clean up. PC on the other hand is full of maxed out characters with infinite wallets. Any thoughts? Was it some sick marketing ploy to make new players think they could actually close the gap using real money? Any thoughts? How do newer players exist in new Eden ? The Open Beta was there for anyone who wanted to play it. Choosing not to play in the Open Beta and then complaining that those of us who did didn't have all our progress taken away from us is childish.
Dust is hardly the first F2P game to allow people who support the game through Open Beta to keep their progress as a reward. |

I remember that day.
The day in which all was lost, and a new chapter was to be written.
In all truth, a full character reset may have been more fair, but imagine the QQ and sadness all us betas would be in since then.
But yeah, a reset completely would have been ten time more fair, but whatever.
Can't quite fix it I suppose. |

While you're correct about the average casual it doesn't change the point I was trying to make. The "gap" is closed eventually; if someone had 30 mill SP it doesn't mean they're 2x better off as someone who only had 15 mill, just means they can do other role(s). |

Ugh. 6 million is enough if you know EXACTLY what you need to spec into and waste NOTHING.
Not only that, but 5 months just to get competitive?

He said reset not respec, and no, there shouldnt have been - we've gone over this many times before, just because you were too lazy to find this game on the PSN store while it was in open beta and anyone could get it does not mean we should give special thought to those starting the game later |

Either way there is no way any one person especially a casual going to catch up with a hard core. The sort of folks that already got like couple million of SP from over the cap. The ones floating at 27 million sp now.
Reset at launch and reset now is still going to put you at a disadvantage regardless against these sort of folks.

On a side note I find it funny none of you know when full release was or when you had your scores reset. Last skill reset was 2 weeks before Open Beta, game was released far before it was anywhere near ready at 14/5th or 5/14 for the silly muricans - all because CCP were like LOL LETS RELEASE THE GAME ON THE AMERICAN RELEASE DATE BECAUSE ITS IN THE TITTLE WHEN WE HAVE LESS THAN 10% CONTENT LOL , LOL GOOD IDEA - and thats how one of the worst FPS came into being |

I never said anything about resetting score now. Nor am I complaining about the scores not being reset. I am trying to figure out why some people are defending the fact that when dust 514 was advertised and was actively seeking new players from PSN the playing field was not leveled . New players without a clue got smashed to a point of deleting the game before seeing its potential. I stuck around... Still unsure why as this community is extremely hard to break into . It's full of closed minded "beta" players who feel they have earned the right to deter new players by smashing their faces. It's okay though I'm sure they all HTFU and went yo a new game lol. I am at 5 months and 9.5 mil sp. I do find my determination a little annoying but at least I won't have to spend real dollars on aurum soon as I'll have everything I need for PC. |

We have several players with half my current SP and out perform me in PC's.. Most of the vet's have become complacent.. and a new upstart tryhard will even put the most seasoned vet in their place. |

I seem to remember that the last reset was when Dust transitioned to Tranquility and became part of New Eden,..
It seemed that CCP policy was that there are no SP resets on TQ, for both Eve and Dust players, the only respecs are usually due to changes in the skill trees, but SP are never taken back in this server.
Of course I could be remembering this wrong, or CCP may have changed their minds.

I am at 5 months and 9.5 mil sp. I do find my determination a little annoying but at least I won't have to spend real dollars on aurum soon as I'll have everything I need for PC. That last skill reset 2 weeks before Open Beta was reward for every player that waste his time to test this game and make it better one. When you started playing it I've played it for a year. On each build I gave up CCP feedback on what I would like to change, what in my opinion is broke or require balance - I was here for every build, even when it was completely unplayable - it's called beta testing.
It seems to me that the players loyal to the game deserved for such reward like 'last reset 2 weeks before Open Beta'. It was not hard to get in to close beta, we had severals events for people that really, want to play DUST had a chance to get in, and become beta testers.
And now stop worrying that someone has more SP then you. This game is moving in the direction of where your attitude determines whether on the field you a better player, it's not about your SP. |
