Im not gonna complain, whine, or rage. There are enough threads like that.
My question is just what has caused the slow progress?
I was expecting much more to be in the game by now. And im a little frustrated. Ive managed to hold it off so far but im starting to succumb to bitter vet syndrome.
If I remember correctly, the really awesome stuff such as MTACs, new planet types, and the gladiator arena/ esports were supposed to come in the next major patch after launch. (I may be wrong). But as of right now its as if only 1/2 the game is functional.
Were there unexpected complications? restrictions? Problems in the dev team? Or did you just misjudge things? |

Hopefully the new Executive Director (who has a lot of experience with f2p games) will shake things up a bit to get this game rolling again. |

The problem is probably in two parts:-
1. I suspect the Dust dev team threw some basic development best practice out of the window for a while trying to meet deadlines, and now have to sort out the mess they made.
2. Monthly releases doesn't give much time to build stuff, but players still expect the same amount of stuff in a release whether it is the result of 1 month or 6 month's work
Monthly releases are part of the solution to (1), so when CCP are comfortable they have that fixed I imagine they'll slow down the release frequency to allow them time to build larger features, and that should help with (2).
