So after parusing through the market I happened to see that omega passive boosters are back and have recieved a price hike of double what they were when they first came out. Ccp, are you ******* ********? This game has come Pretty far but still not even close to justifying charging people 65,000 aur each. This is just like the fossil miltia suit at the beginning of uprising. Its price doubled from what it was in open beta. You really cant justify charging that much for something intangible. I highly reccomend people not buythem until they are brought back down to 35,000 each. Even still that is like $30 for 1. People please read this and take a stand. We can not let free to play games rip us off any more.

Welcome to pay 2 win..
If you buy one, you're rich if you don't buy one out of common sense, then you're a broke bastard and below middle class that's at least what the forum fanboys will tell you... |

IIRC they are twice as effective as normal passives, and slightly more than twice as expensive. The extra amount is what you pay for speed boost. I don't see the problem. |

It's a fair price you get twice as much SP as a regular booster at the same rate. It's slightly more than double regular booster price because of the time value of the SP. For two regulars you have to wait 2 months to get the most out of it, but with one Omega you get the same amount of SP in half the time so it should cost more. A better question is why is this a limited time thing? Before it made sense because it really was a deal, now it is just reasonably priced. Also despite the impact boosters have, they make this game far from pay to win. |

+1
I know quite a few guys that can run militia / standard gear and get the best of Aurum bought Proto. The three things that ususally decide victory in a personal firefight or a match are Teamwork, Individual Skill, and Gear. If you've got any two of the three you are in good shape. If you have only one advantage...the weakest is the higher rated gear.
I don't mind the cost of the booster. I absolutely would like them cheaper but as Tallen points out...you get two months worth of SP in a single 30 day period for a small up charge.
I actually think the more valuable might be the 7 day active Omega. Consider this...run the active Omega booster during a weeklong double SP event or triple SP weekend. That's an investment. |

You don't understand, free to play prices aren't "fair". They give you a range of options, from completely free to ridiculously overpriced, and you pick what you can afford and consider the game to be worth. The big spenders carry the majority of players who spend little to nothing.
And if you think that it's not fair that big spenders get more SP, then consider this: It's also not fair that old players got more SP than new players. If you start thinking that more SP equals winning, then you've lost already.
CCP is actually being exceptionally fair by making these a timed offer, to limit the amount by which big spenders can move ahead.
If you even think about "winning" the meta game of DUST, then you have to be aware that it will be neither fair nor cheap. But it's your call, you could also just play, do your best with what you got, and enjoy the game. |

1. People wanted pay-to-win. 2. CCP put in pay-to-win. 3. CCP charges you a heavy price to discourage buying pay-to-win. LOL
Want a respec as well? Send $50,000 USD to CCP in cash (unmarked bills) in an unmarked suitcase and then be put on queue for the next Soon(tm) trend. |

CCP is not making you buy it to continue playing this game, if you feel like you need to get that "extra" SP then go for it.
I haven't spent a dime in this game not even 5 cents and I won't until something interesting happens. |

Weren't Omegas "discounted" for Fanfest? I picked up five at the time although the other content and gas points from the PSN card purchase were important factors.
In the end it really is up to each person to decide if it is worth it.
With 20 AUR aprox = 1 Cent. 65k AUR = $32.5 = 720,000 SP (after 30 days). The Passive Omega generates 22,154 (rounded up) SP per $1.
Looks like a terrible deal to me. |
