I agree with OP, except for the swarmlauncher. Cavemen with rocks and spears have better range than the infantry of New Eden... |

Even when I'm running my scout alt in sniper mode, I never redline unless the opposing team has us pushed us back that far, and even then I try to find a way around them to shoot them in their backs from outside the red line. After all, I'm not the douche you appear to be. |

I think RAnges NEED to stay short since the Maps are WAY to OPEN.
If a RANGE in weapons would occur, then a Heavy increase in COVER for infantry PER MAP would be at hand...
Just imagine THE REDLINED BERRIES not being able to even show their faces ''550 mts'' behind the red line because a guy with a DUVOLLE will kill their ass... hmhmm... AND I HEAVILY OPPOSE making maps bigger. As it is,except for vehicle Drivers, having to RUN 400-600mts to an objective is just madness...

One of the biggest mistakes CCP ever made was putting distance in a unit we can easily compare/understand.
I say this because this issue comes up a lot. People bring up GÇ£realism" blah blah and don't realize gameplay is more important than realism. Should of put all ranges in shaktars that way people stop the complaining.
If it makes you feel any better just start adding zeros, range of ARs is now 800m, shotguns 70m etc. Then we are playing on absolutely huge maps in gigantic 60m tall suits running 80m+ per sec because...it's the future. |

Militia LAV/Dropship or a pilot team mate is the solution to that issue. This game is more about teamwork than lone wolfing.

I understand that CQC fans seem to thing anything more than ten meters is too far, but things can have some common sense to them without killing the fun.

Not related. I can play games with TEAMWORK but i dont see the need to make players SPEND ISK, just so you can increase range on weapons and humor vehicle drivers.
