It won't happen CCP want to finish the contract it has with SONY in PS3 and probably port it over to PC

• I laugh at people who think that the increase of sales of PS3's as they lower in price when the PS4 comes will do anything to population count for Dust 514; No one in their right mind will buy a PS3 and have Dust 514 as their primary game. If anything, it will be older PS3 exclusives.


• I laugh at people who think the release of the PS4 won't destroy or impede this game to a great degree.


• I laugh at people who think that this game will be released on PS4 within our lifetimes.

Unfortunately, I am going to be hysterical for some time (judging by the dreams that the Dust 514 community holds onto so tight).

I am however, no different than the rest of the community; I am equally as stupid/naive as you all are that this game will have any sort of success after the rest of the gaming world picks people out of this group, one by one...

Is not rocket science, after all the problems CCP have had with Consoles, they just going to go back to familiar territory. They understand PC gamer's a lot better, and the Carbon Engine was design to work optimally with PC's.

The game does not use Carbon. EVE does. And it doesn't do it well, either. Captains Quarters runs terrible on a lot of PC's and draws far more heat then it is supposed to. It was never properly optimized. Furthermore, only the very earliest versions of Dust used Carbon. All of the physics in the game are now based on the unreal engine. It would take a very long effort to port everything back to Carbon and it would feel like a completely different game.

And finally, they won't bring it to PC because it would introduce the worst element you can bring to an F2P MMO -- hackers.

CCP haven't released a date for this to be released on PS4, so you are guessing at May. Personally I don't think this will be on the PS4.

CCP do not have a 10 year contract with PS3 they have a 10 year contract with SOE, they can move it to both ps consoles and move your profile with it.

As far as I was aware, the "10 years" thing is just CCP saying "Eve has just had its 10th birthday and we want Dust to be around just as long".

What ever you want to believe ...CCP have plenty of experience dealing with hackers, so i don't think that will be a problem. And in case you didn't notice, the tranquility server have been under attack few times and the Dust server was affected by the attacks, it have also been few PSN security vulnerabilities that already have been exploited. I had one of my PSN accounts hack, and was because a Dust 514 security risk.

At least in the PC is a control environment, in which CCP can take measures to prevent things like this from happening.

b) May 2014 is one year after official "launch", and I suspect that CCP's contract with Sony says it has to be exclusive to PS3 for 1 year

Dust will probably last last 2-3 more years on the ps3 then move to ps4 to expanded and hopefully be as strong as ever to fight it's competition.

2015 earliest judging by the pace ccp moves at, dnt hold ur breath tho

Price slashes on the ps3 might mean an uptick in players as stores work to empty out their excess inventories to make room for the PS4. I don't think Dust will suffer a truly great decline until Sony stops manufacturing the PS3, by which then it'll have ported over to PS4.

PS+ requirements dudes, PS+ is required for online play

What worries me the most is that we haven't heard anything about a PS4 from CCP.

We haven't heard anything about the PS3 neither...Actually ... we haven't heard anything since Fanfest, everything have been very Elusive.

I don't think the rapid updates are working as intended....or at least that is the impression i getting. They suppose to keep people interested in the game and slowly increase the player-base, they seems to be doing to complete opposite.

doesnt matter if dust ports over from what i have seen of ps2 it is how dust 514 was meant to be and the vehilce in ps2 are balanced and not stupid like they are in dust..also i hear in ps2 there is a point to fighting so cool. i doubt dust will survive the ps4 release games it has barely survived gtav's release. i would have said maybe when i though vehilces were gunna be somewhat balanced by 1.5 but now..ill just move to the better game on release as will most people who enjoy this type of game. if my kitten hadnt peed on my gaming pc i would be gone alreadys

You are free to join PS2, if it comes for me, I rather play something entirely different rather then play PS2.

About the PS4, if Dust would come to the PS4 I would continue playing it, I only have a little reasons to come back to my PS3 after the PS4 arrive in my flat. Dust is definitely NOT a reason for booting up my old friend. DarkSouls2 is something different ;).

I have two friend who are interested in Dust, but don't own a PS3, but they will buy a PS4 on lunch-day.

Oh man, imagine if Dark Souls 2 got a secret development for the PS4...
