Again, CCP is focusing on mere miscellaneous things (like NPE, in this instance), but what good does that do when everyone gets bored of the lack of released content and they all leave?
Maybe CCP is smarter than I give them credit for, and they are developing this in preparation for the less than 1000 players playing this game in November, so all of the people who are stuck playing this game have another method to squad up when their entire corporation is empty/dead. |

Also, CCP Mintchip is locking all threads that are trying to discuss this devblog since they are just duplications of the one I listed. |

Yep, NPE is fine as it is, for sure.
Has it occurred to you that low player counts may be as a result of terrible NPE? Additionally, there's no evidence for a drop down to 1000 players by November, that's just you exaggerating. |

Player retention will be better if new players can understand the game. Introducing the new tutorials and an easier way to meet people to play with in game are big steps in the right direction. Just remember, though, that these are steps, not the entire journey. |

You do realize the flux of people leaving is greater than the people coming to play Dust 514?
I'm not going to argue too long about this to you, but I hope you stay here longer than I just so you can witness the game dying for yourself.

I have to say I think new player experience is a key item.
All the complainers who have been here forever seem to forget that bringing in new players successfully is really the most important thing to figure out at this point.
All the protostomping, AFK farming, and other "educational sevices" they performed to "help newbs adjust" was probably not as helpful as they'd like to think. |

I hope so too.
One thing though that makes me think, is that the price of new consoles don't usually drop in noticeable amounts until at least a year and a half after it's release.
I don't expect anything more than a 50 dollar discount on PS4 or Xbox One until Winter 2015, but you will see tons of bundles and such to help increase sales (usually s**t games are bundled with them, unfortunately).
Getting to my point, it's interesting to talk/speculate about the opportune moment to transfer this game from PS3 to PS4; The best decision would be to take advantage of the lack of (a large amount) good exclusives when the PS4 comes out, and release the game on PS4 as soon as possible to take advantage of the hardware (things such as draw distance being solved with more memory to generate a more distant horizon would EASILY reunite many players in this game), but from CCP's player retention standpoint, that won't happen, as not everyone is getting a PS4 on release.
I truly want this game to live up to the release of the PS4, but I really don't see this game living until then. |

I know right? How dare they develop the game with a larger goal in mind that requires several steps to arrive at the destination! |

Define "free", buddy.
Many people I know paid more for this game than they would have for a AAA game, yet, this game is still very stale and slow to perform large content updates that are consistent without being pushed back.
I've spent a total of 10 dollars on this game, and I am truly happy I didn't spend more; When the game releases all of the suits/vehicles before it gets close to dying (completely), I will be happy to pay more for the developers.
Until then, I have many more places I can put my money until I finish my Masters. |

You are only proving my point; Variable transactions (including none) of money to CCP means variable expectations, ergo, you can't objectively quantify peoples feedback. |

Somebody was trying to objectively quantify people's feedback?
I think the point is that if you pay your money take your chances... and don't come whining to us about it. I've put money in and I'm not bitching about anything (putting my money where my mouth is so to speak). If I keep playing it I'll spend some more money.
Regardless, it's a free game -- I didn't buy it with the money I spent nor do I get to think I deserve special treatment. In that sense any feedback of similar quality should be of the same value. |

I am guessing that a large population of active PS3 gamers will have moved to the PS4 by December 31st 2014, probably over 75%.

But but but, the only way to get better is to get ground into a paste over and over again by people with an unconquerable skill and gear gap, that way you learn that you belong on the bottom of the boot of the people who got lucky and got into closed beta first. |

This thread has been hijacked by whiny fucken trolls 1.5 looks great and promising and fresh hopefully it sparks my interest in the game again. New weapons and tank balance would have made this a major release but still great features coming corp roles were necessary. Plus weren't people asking for a squad finder CCP really delivered but still I see bitching in this thread. Bah haha. |
