I believe that players are dumping more SP into AR then other weapons. A player with level 3 in Laser rifles is complaining that a AR player is winning with more damage. That is not OP that is more skill. If I run into players equally invested in another weapon they have a good chance to kill me and a really good chance at a distance as Scram and Laser give more damage at farther ranges.
The thing I have not seen mentioned the AR has the smallest clip. A skilled Scram player or Laser can kill multi targets with one clip size. Worry about over heat and such but waiting till AR is reloading give a good 3+ sec advantage.
Everyone starts with the AR so it is most common. I think if each class/race started with different starter weapons you would not see that. |

I like to think its well known by now that the ones really crying about the AR are the older guys that wandered in here from EVE that just cant keep up with younger guys Hell, I myself am only in my mid twenties but you put me up against some 16 year old wired on red bull that only plays games all day and hes going to shoot much better than me |

Skilled is the optimal word. Its not the weapon that is OP if more skilled players use it. Because it was the weapon we started with in closed beta.... |

This is true. Especially when you are killing starter fits and basic suits. They melt like butter to a proficiency 5 AR user. |

The AR has a clip size of 60. The Scrambler has a clip of 45. the Laser has a 'clip' of 100, but can only fire 60 in one burst(Amarr Assault notwithstanding). It also wastes 30 'shots' getting to full power. Check the counts before you complain. I do believe MILITIA AR has only 30 shots though, so you are kindasortatechnically 'right.' |

I have lvl 0 proficiency and since I run tanks I also run starter fits to make up for the lost ISK, last match using the assault medic starter fit I went 19-8 ranking number 2 on the leader boards a skilled ar user will kill you almost every time regardless of proficiency or damage mods. |

Eh, I think it needs some recoil tweaks, increase it a little, have it kick in sooner, and don't reset it after letting go of the trigger for a fraction of a second. But that's just my two isklets. |

Reserve Ammo and magazines never felt like a drawback on the AR.
I rarely get killed reloading an AR as well. |

The ammo reserves and clip size of the AR make it feel like an LMG, but the appearance and reload are more 'AR' level. The lack of recoil and sheer accuracy are from neither gun, however, not sure where those attributes come from... |

Like I said - Because that is the gun we started with in Beta. If they had a different starter gun for each race you would not see that. |

Weaker then Laser vs shields, smaller clip size (laser rifles pound shield tanks). Weaker then Scram at range, unable to charge a shot Weaker then a Mass Driver - can't one shot. Weaker then a Sniper Rifle at long range Weaker then a Shot Gun at close range

False. Ppl who use most non-AR weapons cry about AR. Something is wrong when a heavy does better with an AR than HMG and something is wrong that a guy who picked up Plasma Cannon and skilled into it goes 1/5 KDR. |

ya, something is wrong when a heavy does better with a AR then a HMG - unless they are a commando... Your talking about very situational things here. The only answer I have is they need to buff the Plasma Cannon, its usefulness on the battlefield is limited. Or maybe its geared for Command second weapon options. |
