I've only used the Caldari and Gallente assault suits(though to be fair, I only used the Caldari before we got Gallente assaults)
And I'm wondering what each suit is best at doing. In my experience with Caldari suits they are better at being a Orbiting assault and hit and runs. They can effectively attack a target then move to the next. Not the best for dealing with multiple suits but effective at 1v1s(as I'm sure most assault suits are anyway)
For Gallente, they were UP before the armour buff and now they feel just up to par. I'd like to see a +2 buff to base PG but otherwise I'm happy with it(though you really need to max out all skills to use it well)
As for what the Gallente assault is best for, I would say it's kind of a more mobile heavy suit. Good for point defense and works well in a group. It's a very survivable suit, but because of the slow nature of armour reps your kind of forced to seat on the side lines for a bit between fights if they eat into your limited buffer.
tl;dr what do you think each assault suits best and worst role is? |

Honestly. For playing an assault role, the type of suit or weapon you run make ZERO difference. Nothing will net you more kills than the other.

Aim... shoot... skill... I don't think that's true. while they are the frontline and are meant to be killers, I think some perform better at other for various tasks.
Even though we only have 2 scouts, I feel they both perform better at different things. Minjas for stealth killing then getting the fudge out. Gallente for..uhhhh eWar...when we get it... |

Amarr - best for scrambler rifle and laser rifle; the bonus to laser weaponry allows you to shoot more before reloading. Great for both shield and armor tanking, and high HP makes it a good brawler. |

A little more specific, I find my Advanced Amarr Assault suit doesn't have as much eHP as other advanced assaults usually do, but with the heat bonus and already high DPS of laser weapons, they are best for either point defense relying on stopping the enemy before they can get close or sitting just outside an objective and picking people off while others invade. |

All we will do is match in a straight column toward the enemy, not stopping, even if we die, line up, then fire a single shot, wait 20 seconds then fire again.... nah we'll unload on them until we all overheat..... if we live that long. |

You know the whole reason battles were fought like that was because the rifles were crazy inaccurate, so if you get a dozen people standing side-by-side to fire you'll surely hit someone. Of course that tactic is crazy out-dated and would never work, especially in a video game. Still, it would be fun. |

I've messed with the amarr assault (the logi is better)
I go with a laser rifle and a scanner. play 50m outside of your ar and frontline weapon users. remove the shields of every enemy who is approaching, and kill the ones that don't approach.
be wary of the ar users. you need to be at 60 or 65 meters to negate their effectiveness. occasionally an ar positioned above you will have a strangely strong punch. once you can get the ar user to scope in on you, just burn him down. |

The SMG is a good support for the LR but I honestly believe the Burst Scrambler is better for CQC with the LR. |

I use Caldari for its mobility, tried Gallente didnt like it. Less HP but more movement.
As you said hit and run tactics are fun for the caldari but at the same time taking down 2-3 enemys at a time is as easy as the 1v1's if your popping in and out of cover, I do it all the time While the gallente assaults stay defensive for the most part (Stacked with Armor and Damage mods) Caldari suits fit my play style perfectly considering I like to run behind enemy lines hacking objectives and killing strays |

well we wouldn't have secondary ranks unless we did lines of 8 which means 2 fire fights per game, rather than 4 single lines. |

Nah I dont like being squishy.
C assault has the right balance of hp and speed for me. I like shields over armor.
BUT I did build a suit for defensive roles that kiks azz, 965 hp at present. 582 shield 383 armor. I have Biotics maxed but still dont like the lack of speed from the plates =/ |
