I was recording, and I began recording because of how fast this dude was firing.
I wish I was recording sound, you could hear how fast it was.
There were 4 shots in total, 3 fast, the third one is hard to see because it is head on and behind my ADS, the fourth he fired later than the other 3 |

The first shot is fired just before 11:35, all three of the first 3 were fired before 11:34, the last shot, the 4th was fired at 11:33. Watch the smoke trails |

To get a better idea of how fast they are firing, watch the numbers on my health decrease, not the health bar, but the numbers. You can see 3 distinctive drops in about a second. |

I don't think that was lag switching, his clone wasn't jumping around. If the recording showed him shoot me from one position, then appears 3 meters to the left shooting I'd agree. This was just fast MD. I was hearing it all game, it kinda stood out. |

i have a suspicion of how i think hes doing it, and if im right theres already a fix in 1.5 for it.
there are a few possabilitys but all would require a programable controller / KB/M
the first is overloading the fireing animation may clip it back to it starting position creating a rapid fire, this would be done with fiddling with an full auto shooting timer, with some sort of other variable thrown in such as a piece of the melee glitch.
this is definatly the work of a clever macro though.

Are you saying that a specific country has a monopoly on lag switching? Btw, need we go over again on how you can't lag switch unless you're the host, a thing that doesn't exist in Dust 514?

a total of 2 seconds elapses between shot 1 and shot 4
with shots 1 to 3 occuring in a single second.
i based this off both the youtube video timer and the in game timer shown.
unfortunatly theres not enough footage to properly identify what hes doing to create this effect, or weather hes able to repeat this on purpose.
assuming he can do it on purpose it looks like its a push and hold solution, where he can chose to single fire or rapid fire, this is based off of shots 4 and 5 having the proper rate of fire.
submit this to CCP so they can test with a modded controller/KBM and try to recreate it |

the MD is the only applicable weapon for this particular party trick.
hitscan weapons work on different princaples
flaylock doesnt have a ROF cap
charge weapons (forge,PC) wont fire properly but may be able to be glitched out in other ways (possably bypassing the charge, although i havnt seen this and dont know if its possable)
it works with the MD becuase it spawns a projectile when it shoots and doesnt require charging.
this feels like an animation clipping related glitch |

I had a glitch once, in which my SMG was firing like a mass driver. It had the same reload animation, the same firing sound, and the same recoil. It was firing at the speed of the SMG, but sadly it was still firing SMG rounds so I couldn't exploit it :(

If what you are saying is true, wouldn't I only expect to see and hear this only if he was shooting me?
Keep in mind that this was happening all game. i would post more video, but I wasn't recording sound, and this was the only time I faced off on him when I was recording.
The sound was unmistakably unusual, usually in groups of four (thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk,) really fast. When I first heard it my first thought was "there is no way that is one mass driver", but it was consistent in it's rhythm, and from a consistent sound source. So I thought either there were two players with MDs standing in very close proximity, and harmoniously firing together, or this is a glitch. I started recording and looking for him after I got killed by him the first time. I spent the rest of the game looking for him to cap that video.

Fair enough, if like other people say he is a lag switcher he could be purposefully doing it, its just something I have experienced as an MD user!! |

I can verify this issue.
Me and another corp member in my squad both saw it multiple times during one battle. There was no lag. When I was first killed by it I thought i'd hit 6 mass driver enemies all in a bunch. Later we had a clear view of him shooting a crap load all at once. It was a Japanese player to, although I don't remember who, they actually shot even faster then this video shows. You could actually see multiple rounds in the air at once! |

Not that I know of. I think it would be to hard for automated analysis to distinguish from normal latency.
This does not seem like lag switching. As someone else said, the game did not feel laggy, and if my understanding of lag switching is correct, i would've only noticed the effect when they were shooting at me. I notice the sound throughout the whole game. |

I confirmed last night with my Corp mates. This is not lag nor lag switching. can be reproduced on ds3 with difficulty, though I am positive it would be much easier on kbm and programmable controller. it is an exploit. Same exploit as melee glitch.
The solution seems simple to me. Just like active scanners have a cool down period and meter, all non automatic weapons should also have a cool down period and cool down meter based on that weapons RoF. With active scanners, doesn't matter what you do, if it hasn't cooled down, you can't use it. All weapons should act the same. An oversight, for sure. |

We heard him before we saw him ... it was so stinkin' obvious. Thump-Thump-Thump ... Boom-Boom-Boom Roughly 1/4 second lapse between shots.

Glad someone else heard it. Like I said in this thread and the bug thread I submitted, it sucks I wasn't recording sound. If you heard it you'd immediately know something was up. The MD sound is very distinctive, when you hear it rapid fire it really stands out as an unusual sound. |

I was trying to ensure that I got good video. I wish I would've fired at all so the third shot would've never been in question.
Remember I started recording and spent the game chasing after this dude to get good footage of it in case no one believed me.
If I had been recording sound, I would've post more video to show multiple audio examples. This clip was perfect because he was alone, so no chance of another MD user nearby firing at me. |

Gåæ This. Like they aren't pathetic enough, they have to have an exploit to make ez-mode brainless-mode.

Doc, I'm game. Using a ds3 to reproduce it makes for some not very pretty footage, but it should be enough to silence the nay-sayers. We should capture the melee glitch at the same time. Two-birds-one-stone sort of junk and all that. |

You can repro by doing the shotgun glitch...
i.e. shoot, reload, sprint, repeat. (I usually just mash all buttons at once, not sure what the exact combo is)
As fast as you can press the buttons you can fire, but as far as I know, it doesn't actually fire live rounds if you don't complete the firing animation for the mass driver. |

!!! Shotgun glitch?!? not gonna lie, tempted to try this, but may be a little too tempted to incorporate into my play style! "must... not... cheat... must... not... cheat...". This exploit would render me a garbage player (more so) once they fix it though... even still, soooooo0000oooo tempting: I like winning. |
