The answer is no.
They are running one month from Dev release to QA followed by a month of QA before patch release. Considering todays date it means that QA and Devs were unable to resolve some issues regarding the major focus for 1.5.
From a software development viewpoint the entire thing (mostly) just slipped. Sometimes it happens and with a small team pushing aggressive updates (and once a month is aggressive, just so you know) it is bound to happen. Tough that it happened on this particular one.
It would better to have it right than to have the forum servers sink under the Gazillion QQ Kitten/Second load of all those tears. |

NINE ARMS wrote:Hi, CCP. I'm really enjoying the Dead Space and Borderlands series since the release of 1.4 (they've both got great weapons, and BL2 co-op mode is huge fun). Think I'll try Mass Effect soon. Start from the beginning for ME. Don't forget to maximize your Nice Guy/Bad Guy (or Gal) points. In ME2 you lose their bonuses on the second play through so most people I know never played ME2 except from a ME1 character progression. |

Sorry for the off topic reply above, but it was important in ME universe.
I am a little worried. I have hardly any Corp mates to play with for either character. When I do find them the effort to get a full squad is a pain and is mostly not successful. Before 1.4 we were easily running multiple squads.
FYI CCP (all locations) the biggest reasons given are Aim Assist has made the game boring. Without it vets get slaughtered by New Berries and with it the game is dull because everybody has to run it now. Personally I have gotten more hip fire kills in the last two weeks than the rest of my last year plus in DUST. Some are like myself waiting to see what happens in 1.5 as vehicles are a big SP sink for some of us.
I know it is tough to fight GTA-5, and everybody has lost to them today, but when do we get news regarding DUST and some reset of expectations? Where and who should I be watching for or if I missed it where is the url?
That information along with the direction of Aim Assist will determine how much longer I am down in the DUST.
Good Luck. |

Move. Run. Cover, find it.
The Heavy can be taken down in under 2 seconds by most weapons. Attack them from the side or behind. I run Heavies and the Boundless is a great weapon but I have not used it as yet. The MH-82 is nearly as effective and much less expensive.
What type of Drop Suit were you wearing? It sounds like a Militia and/or Scout. If that is true you need to learn how to play differently. Never approach a Heavy head on. At least until you have enough Shields/Armor to survive for long enough to kill them first.
Although, true be told, coming around a corner to find a Heavy in full health with a HMG ready to spool and shred you back to a new clone sometimes just turns out to be the luck of the draw. |

And it makes me add a possibility for the delay. Ponder the following fellow Tankers:
The changes are so dramatic that it will Require a Skill SP Refund. That would probably make CCP/Shanghai gag. Then, when the modified Skills and Vehicle capabilities are looked at many, like myself, will no longer skill into Tanks, or any vehicles whatsoever.
Personally, freeing up the 8M+ SP from Vehicles and Turrets will let me spend my 140+M ISK on Proto gear more often than not. It would significantly improve my lethality as well my level of fun. Something that has been lacking in Uprising since 1.0 and is the very reason that Boosters are a thing of the past for me. Hopefully they will buy back my useless Vehicles, Modules and Turrets as well.
Hell, it might even be worth spending some SP to Find My Freaking Squad as they have stolen that ability just to force more SP sinks down our throats. CCP/Shanghai, rewriting lore to make more Sinks! |

Have seen to many of these patches cause to much trouble all month long, then it's fix fix fix, finally smooth out bugs, time for new patch, problems again. again. Love that your major updating once a month, hate that it's rushing u so bad it's broken when it comes out.
Month?
Where have you been? It has been like this since 1.0, 1.1 at the best. Which is when I quit playing. After my Sp respec I finally returned. |

From a software standpoint you really don't want to do this. This code base has too many entangled internals to pull something like that off very well, if at all. They need to QA before the Mercs get it. If we had a Beta Server (although, that would be a hassle in all honesty) then we could jump in and help QA. But now we have a bucket of New Berries and breaking it is not a good idea.
Put it this way, whatever you get will be a bonus from what I am expecting. Which is the very limited things they have commented on with the Entire Vehicle List gone, aka delayed. |

FATPrincess - XOXO wrote:Release vehicle patch in 1.5 so we can give feedback for 1.6.
-XOXO Ah ... no.
Please do not request Devs to release a broken patch intentionally. Broken patches or patches with broken features are all to prevalent in the software/video game industries. No sense in asking for it to happen.
XOXO, recall that they said it wasn't good (essentially). As in not worthy of a release and thus is broken in some fashion. Most likely game play breaking, tanks are too paper, modules are too powerful, something is definitely too something or not enough. 1.5 needs to be considered functional, at least in the viewpoint of the Devs and QA, before it is released.

jerrmy12 kahoalii wrote:my tanks can't keep getting destroyed. atleast hotfix tank hp and repper/nerf av(forge guns included)/buff hp in 1.5/give more pg Hot fixing tank HP is not a grand idea, frankly. Game Balance is a difficult problem with many entangled elements.
I lose tanks when I get them physically stuck (new map or a structure I have yet to drive through), get surprised by two Proto AV Reds attacking at the same time or just get too adamant on chasing down one particular Red that ticked me off.
Why are you losing tanks? What tanks are you running? How are they equipped? What are you doing?
If you are running Sica and Soma variants, you will die.
If you are running Shield tanks, good luck. I pop them all the time, in tanks and out. Regardless of their level.
If you are not running hardeners and repair then bye bye tank.
If you continually run into close combat with Red Infantry without proper Gunners (only shoot when necessary and have mics) then good luck, but no promises.
If you need speed to escape then run Nox or Fusion Accelerator and get out now.
My standard Rail Gun is a Mad with Fusion, 120mm armor (5100), hardener, heavy repair and twin charger or such. Decent turrets for gunners of on the off chance that someone will be in them and stop some **** from getting lucky with AV grenades.
I am not good with a Blaster tank as yet. I am practicing which means I am losing more than I would like but Rails are 5/1 currently. I lose about 1 tank is five matches. A money making scenario. Blasters are most likely the opposite or at best 1/4.
If you need real info or help see the Rookie Training forum and search for help simply ask. But, please, more detail than just Kitten QQ about your precious tankies getting their butt kicked.
Good Luck. |

jerrmy12 kahoalii wrote:shield tanks, best booster, hardener when repping, and my soma lvl 1 spec survives longer. blasters are my thing, i do **** with railguns, forge/proto swarm=death Yep. They are difficult.
STD Shield tank (not Militia I hope) can be done but you have to change your thinking I suspect.
First, they are faster than armor tanks. Second, why are you slowing up? Don't.
If you are mostly Blaster then you have to shoot from cover if you are hitting a Red turret. Never enter a fight without full modules rested and ready to go. At least until you get a good feeling about what you can recover from.
If you get hit, GTFO. Now, not after you finish taking down that turret. Right the Kitten now! One round from almost anything (serious round not infantry) will finish you off if you are down to Armor. You should be running and dodging, looking for cover.
Once they get you in their sights and you see 5-6 swarm missiles hit, get to a safe place and recall it. Lots of missiles and massive damage means Proto Swarms. No sense in staying around. Keep an eye on who you are playing against. Molon Labe. tends to run a lot of AV and Proto as well. Don't get in close with them nor let their infantry surprise you or you will be replacing a tank. There are many others, learn the names of the Mercs and their Corps.
My biggest mistake is getting into a fight with infantry. Tough not to do, but it will save you tanks if you just bug out. Take it for a spin, hopefully towards your MCC. Then let everything and I mean Everything recover. Booster, hardener, cooling and whatever else needs to cycle. Don't forget to stop by the Supply Depot and get close enough to repair your armor.
Now, shooting blaster takes some practice but it is much easier shooting infantry than with a Rail Gun. Try to get behind other tanks, shoot as you come around a corner for installations. Remember you have decent splash radius and damage. Use it to surprise Reds hiding behind boxes and corners. In particular if they were already damaged. The biggest lesson is to pay attention to your surroundings. You need to know how to get out of where ever your are at. Getting stuck, facing the wrong direction and other silly mistakes will cost you a tank.
Get your tank moving early in a match and pop every turret you can. The fewer that are left the longer your tank will live. Don't forget, a Rail Gun (tank or installation) has a 600m range even if they cannot see you they can figure out where you are by your headlights or their squad leader can put an attack order on you. That means you will not see them and they have over twice the range you do. GTFO when the rounds start hitting you.
Also, once you have learned how to get out you can start a match with hardeners On. Once you take rounds hit the Booster and bug out. Hardeners give you the biggest benefit when you have full shields. Simple math even if the modules stacking is screwed up as it currently is.
Learn the maps and the sockets. If you never do well on a map, don't drop a tank. Not all maps are good tank maps. If you wind up 16v0 drop a LAV and drive around, hacking stuff and blowing things up with a Forge Gun. Plus, you are learning the map. Think about how you can get your tank in and, more importantly, Out of a socket you are not familiar with.
If you are running out of cash, run cheap/free suits and focus on making ISK. If you like Ambush it is the best way to generate ISK. When not running for Kills my alt, a Heavy, can make 2-3M ISK a day. Otherwise he is happy to make up to 1M ISK. But, he doesn't run tanks. This guy can easily make 1-2M ISK a day and he rarely runs very cheap suits. No Proto though, too expensive and so are the tanks. Tanks are more important that Proto suits. I do run some Proto weapons but not all the time. My standard Mad is 621K ISK. That is easy enough to make profit on. And losing one every 5-6 matches still leaves me with a profit. The longer between loses, the more profit there is. Once you can run10-12 matches without losing your tank you can raise the cost of your tank without busting the bank. I like to keep Millions of ISK on hand. I never run either character down low as it is too limiting if you get into a fire fight with a common enemy. Like that Proto Swarmer that took you out last match. Sniper him to death all match long.
And Good Luck. |

jerrmy12 kahoalii wrote:i know how to shield tank, they're just crap, 1 hit basically means retreat, but i can do well with a gunlogi Your reply confuses me. A Gunlogi is a shield tank. If you do alright using them then what is the problem?
I armor tank. I run Mads. I have a few AUR Gunlogi for testing purposes. Seeing if I like large missile turrets. I don't run Somas although I have some friends that do well with them. They can run Vayu as well but sometimes running a cheap tank is okay.
I don't shield tank because Uprising hosed tanks. And shields got it worse, in my opinion. The high cost of Skills and the low payout of SP meant I had to choose one over the other so I went Armor. In Chromosome I ran both. Not enough SP to do both now.
I normally run a Rail Gun as that is what I am best with. Blasting will get me killed as likely as not. I need to practice it more but hesitate without a consistent gunner. My advice still stands. Apply it or ignore it as you see fit.
Sorry for my delayed response. The notification system seems a little off lately. |
