Assault rifles better be rebalanced in 1.5. If they aren't, I might leave the game. I love Dust, CCP, but when 1 weapon rules above all others, it makes for very boring gameplay. And I'm not necessarily talking about the tac rifle, or the burst, or the breach. I'm talking about the regular assault rifle. I have over 400 shields, but it gets melted within 1 second by some guy with an assault rifle. It seemed far more balanced in 1.2/1.3 than it does now. Somehow, giving a guy aim assist and a rifle that shoots 750 rounds a minute and 60 shot mags seems excessive. Assault rifles should have more of a purpose as a SHORT range rifle that does good damage, rather than the weapon to end all clones. |

First off, let me just say that I am extremely disappointed that we will not be getting new weapons in 1.5. This brings me to my main question: when will the game feel more complete? We have been promised so many things that haven't even been out in the game yet. Plus the already rough mechanics (sometimes) and occasional server problems. I understand that this is CCP's first FPS, but I still don't understand why there is still so much missing from the game, especially after we have been told that it will be included in the game.
I love DUST, and I will continue playing it, but it is getting a little boring to play with the same weapons and the same dropsuits. The new maps were a huge step in the right direction, but I feel like new dropsuits, weapons, vehicles, and game types are necessary for the survival of this game. |

MEHRUNES REBELLION wrote:Hello to all my name is Mehrunes Rebellion and have an idea that you all might like and it's just two words. Deployable. Cover. It can be fitted into any of your equipment slots(provided you have a suit that has a equipment slot) and deployed like any other deployable items (i.e. nanohives, uplinks, proximity bombs, etc, etc,) except instead of a swarm of nanites giving you ammo it will be a wall of hardened nanites protecting you from damage once deployed u cannot move it and if you get killed the shield will still remain active till its destroyed or u lay down another one(enemy units will be able to use it) deployable cover will be very useful for the assaults and logi who are the running across no mans land and in those tight corridors where no cover is to be found, deployable cover is not indestructible however nor is it perfect. Deployable cover(or Nanite Shielding) will be destroyed if it takes to much damage this varies depending on the tier Standards can take up to 250 points of damage, Advanced Tier can take up to 500 points in damage, and Prototype protects up to 1000 points of damage and you can skill into it to give it an extra 500 points of damage. It can also come with a shield that offers a wider range of protection but takes less damage to destroy. Deployment time is another issue once deployed it will take 1.5 seconds for shielding to form once formed you will be good to go.
I like it, though I think they should be able to withstand more damage, especially at the standard tier. A blueberry with a standard assault rifle can deal over a thousand damage per clip, so this deployable cover should be able to take a beating. I think AT LEAST 500 hp at the standard level. But other than that, I think it's a great idea that would add another little bit of tactics into the game. I just wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

This may have been thought of already, but I kind of like the idea of having modules for weapons. For instance, you could put a weapon on a dropsuit, and then edit that weapon by putting modules on it. These modules could include scopes, silencers, etc. I feel like this would add an extra bit of tactics, and would improve the variety in gameplay. However, this shouldn't be put in the game until we have the rest of the racial dropsuits and weapons. |
