Now that is if you are luck to get this on your first match when loggin in and winning. Im guessing for this match most people will get a bonus of about 50-70kSp extra next week. WOOOPY, when is the double SP again ? It only applies to WP earned in a match, not total SP. If someone makes 70,000 SP from this event (in its current form) please mail me because I'd love to know how you're making 10,000 WP in a match. My record is 4700.
I also think it's just a test so they can introduce this system outside of events. |

It doesn't seem like it could get better, could it? But for the week of September 19 to 26, we're going to make your first daily win even more pleasant by giving you bonus Skill Points based on how well you did in the battle. For your first victory every day, you will earn bonus SP equal to twice your earned War Points. This bonus is available for victories in any game mode and contract type. Best of all, it does not count against your weekly Skill Point cap! The bonus SP will be delivered after the conclusion of the event.
Really glad you guys are trying stuff with SP bonuses .
Although the daily SP consecutive bonus is a great start , It's not going to really encourage people more than maybe loggin into their 3 chars to keep their consecutive bonus going .
I had been thinking along the lines of something that gives you a SP reward for every 2nd or 3rd battle you play .
So instead of said player logging in to get their SP bonus and maybe playing a game or 2 , they'll feel like they're missing something if they don't stick around for the 2nd battle and the 4th and so on .
For being a MMOFPS there's no reward for "grinding" all day or even a couple hours, There should be incentive to keep playing .
Right now the incentive is aimed at logging in and playing 1game .
Reward people who are playing the game , not for just stopping by .

On topic ... good event CCP ... looks like a decent structure, but as others have said the potential reward is a little low to motivate and short lived since it only affects a single battle.
Making it a triple reward and/or maybe something repetative so every other win gives double or every fifth win gives 3 or 4x ... that could be a good option. |

TY CCP - this is a low-stress decent event with straightforward and understandable mechanics and reward.
I agree that permanent implementation would be pretty cool and wouldn't break anything, but I'm just happy the events team keeps cranking out new things. |

Go into match, earn 2500 wp, get bonus 5k sp per day...
So maybe if you were really good and got 3000 wp per day, that would only be an extra 42k MAX sp earned. 1500 wp per day would be 21k sp. For most players the bonus wouldn't even make a difference, they would log on and not see anything really.
Wow, lame :/ I earn more passive in one day than I'll probably get with the event this entire week.

I guess you missed the thread where logibro and the commander made a whole thread for feedback on events and give quite a lot of back and forth on it. |

This is true, but consider that CCP doesn't want the game to feel grindy. I'd rather not feel compelled to grind up sp, and CCP probably wants us to play because we enjoy playing it over "we are grinding for sp." That being said, people enjoying the game should be able to "play up" for more sp, given that they're very active.
I love that you're rewarding WP behavior, though, as it disincentivizes people wandering around the red zone farming sp semi-afk.

Yes, I missed it completely. I'm only around that board once a week at best.
It's great that they're finally trying to figure out what's wrong with the way they design events. It's also a great example of the point I'm trying to make.
Eterne mentions details of the coming event in that thread, so I can assume that it's possible for the specifics of upcoming events to be discussed with the community. So why aren't we seeing announcement threads asking for player input on upcoming events? All it takes is a "Hey, here's what we're thinking, what do you guys think?"
Am I wrong to complain about the lack of player input into the design of events when it is apparently that easy to involve us?
Am I wrong in thinking that they have been woefully oblivious to our feedback when they are only just communicating about issues like these:
CCP Eterne wrote:Specifically, the following are all things we agree are needed (though be aware they're not necessarily in the pipeline for development at the moment):
- Automatic in-game tracking of objectives.
- Rewards that are either unique, broadly useable, or selectable from a list of potential rewards.
- Events more along the lines of Caldari Prime which are tied to the lore.
- Events that have unique objectives that are different from "normal" gameplay.
- Events that take place on unique maps or with unique skyboxes.
Here are some other things I've noticed repeated that you guys aren't thrilled with:
- Rewards that are Standard tier or have limited useability, even if they're in large numbers.
- Events that have complicated requirements that are difficult to track without them making events more interesting.
I'm not asking for the Devs to take my input in designing events, I want them to care about player input. Rather than just dropping events on us. |

After a little bit more thinking: When will we get a real SP event again? I mean really: The First Victory gives extra SP is nice, but hardly event worthy. It should really be normal to always get some bonus SP for the first victory of the day.I mean this is like a "Get 30.000 Bonus SP!"-Event. What we need is another triple SP event. I just want to get my core skills to 5 but I always get carried away. Shortly before finally getting to my goal I think "Hey! I should just put some points into Light weapons for CPU reduction. Could be worth more than 5% Bonus CPU. And now I should also put 1 point in Scrambler and Laser Rifles. just to see how they work. I noticed btw. that I think Laser Rifles are more interesting than the AR. Should've noticed before I put about 3 Million SP into Assault rifles, but whatever. Can't hurt to be able to use more than one weapon efficiently. Whatever: I really want to see a new Triple SP event. Maybe to get 1.5 started. |

We're doing this with a script, so we can almost certainly make sure it checks to see that you had a "minimum contribution" before it gives you the bonus SP. That way you won't get screwed over by popping into an almost-done match.

Bonus Sp is always a good thing. I would like to see the issues with scotty fixed though or have the option to deploy to station briefing room first. I joined 10 matches in a row yesterday with the MCC already already 50% destroyed and I couldn't join a squad because the message was that they were already deployed in battle. This is a game breaker for me as w/l ratio and kdr have no value. Now it's just a game of war points. Back on the topic, SP rewards are great and should be small. I have played long and hard for my SP. As with all MMO's, players should have to earn SP by putting the time in.
Full squads win matches, locked squads with 2 or 3 lose matches. squad up! see you in the field. |
