Leithe bristles, grips his glass tighter, sending a lattice work of cracks down its surface.
"You have to earn the right to ask me that..." he says bitterly.
Suddenly he straightens, notices the glass, its flawed surface, the swirling liquid slowly leaking out in a thin film that coats the glass, slowly spreading across the bar.
He tried to smile, but it is crooked, broken. "That's a story that would ruin your night, and mine.... better left unsaid."
He briefly considered shifting the focus to Arc...but he knew that stories were just stories and the past had to remain the past....

Aria downs the rest of her beer while pulling a brown cigarette-like item out of her jacket pocket. Grabbing the lighter off the table, she lit her blunt and inhaled smoothly, letting the smoke linger for a few seconds before blowing it out towards the balcony. Looking over the balcony from her seat, she watched the patrons of the club move about; some in conversation while others dance around. With a clear of her throat, she focused her attention back on her smoke. She sat for five minutes before stumping it out, getting up from her seat and heading downstairs to the action.
Aria slipped through the crowds of people, finding a space she liked and began dancing to the music. She found herself paired up soon with another Matari woman named Zameri. She was about 5'8, with hazel eyes an a flirty smirk. Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail with some loose curls left out on her right side. Her skin was the color of peanut butter as well as smooth. Aria grinned before opening her mouth to speak,
"I'm Aria."
"I'm Zameri." She yelled over the music, while keeping her rhythm in tact, which Aria found amusing.
"You come here often?"
"First time actually."
Aria nodded her head, "Same here." And continued on dancing to the loud music. |

"What an absolute smarmy bastard, can't help but leave with a parting shot eh?" Jakar listens to Leithe's explanation and nods slightly with a bit of understanding. He had seen people go to great lengths to get rid of some pain bothering them so he was used to it. As Leithe gets up to go to the restroom Jakar looks down at his drink. "I prefer to just drink," he mutters. He moves from behind the bar and takes a seat at it, next to where Leithe had been sitting and continues to sip on his whiskey. He notices Leithe brush past one of the dancers and wonders if he should introduce the man to one or more of the girls.
His mind wandering, he reaches into the neck of his shirt and pulls out the pendant around his neck, and looks at it, twisting and rotating it a little. He looks at the bottle and pours another shot. "One more, Nissa?" he mutters softly, sipping it.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's your vice?" he inquires, referring to whatever it is that Leithe had taken moments earlier. He blinks surprised, a touch ashamed even. "It's Crystal Egg..." He says plainly. " The strong, expensive stuff....not the trash most dealers are handing out...it has to be strong or it doesn't affect me." He taps the side of his head with a single crooked finger, looks up a Jakar with an apologetic frown. Even high he eyes are focused on the man, he doesn't look away, the cold blue irises distinctly contrast with the dark red lines that run across the whites of his eyes. "Up here is frazzled anyway....something strong has to get through, and this is the only stuff besides......" He cuts off abruptly. "...the only stuff I got....anyway I gotta take a p!ss..." ((lol censored)) He get up and walks to the restrooms. He returns a moment later, passes between two of the dancers, the one that Caldari was messing with glances at him dismissively. Had he been empathic he might have known that she thought he was cute....barely....dark hollow rings around his eyes, blood shot eyes, slouch and pallid skin...not so flattering. But the mussed up, almost curly black hair, the piercing blue eyes were a draw. But he did not know this. He sighed heavily, wasn't anything unusual anyway.
((Since Arc is now talking with whassherface I'm redacting some actions))
As Leithe returns to the bar where Jakar is he catches the whisper of his last comment, his voice sounds hollow, less like the man whom he was talking to only moments before.
Such pain reminds him of his own wounds...he makes a mental note not the broach the subject however, he wasn't about to go asking a man he barely knew about old wounds.
He note the drink....
"I thought you weren't drinking?" he says matter-of-factly. |

"I'd ask how you got behind the bar, but my staff knows you. Thank you. I'll send an email around to my staff with the dates so we can accommodate it." He motions to Leithe "Leithe Askarii," - back to Demel - "Demel Derpovsky. Demel is a contractor that I had obtain me a new door after some maniac decided to blow it up."
"Pleasure to meet you!" Demel says in a chipper tone, bowing slightly and beaming a cheeky smile.
His eyes suddenly shoot wide open, neural neocom message. Demel half blinks with both eyes and slowly regains his composure while fixing his collar.
"Well, I can't seem to sit and drink, so maybe later," He then hops onto the side of a shelf, clinking a couple bottles and merchandise in the process to hoist himself into an open ventilation shaft. His head then peeps outwards and looks at Jakar motionlessly.
"You should add security inside your ventilation shafts...."
He then shuts the door and the small pit platter sound knees and palms crawling through the ducts echo quietly throughout the room.

I kind of just let the character take over at some point.))
Niina picks her head off the bar and looks up at Arc with her golden eyes.
"That is my name," she says with a sarcastic smile, "That's why I wear this shirt here, so I remember!"
She pulls her shirt taught like she had for Demel, giggling sweetly as she hides her face behind her hair and bites her lip.
"Sorry," she chuckles, "That was mean of me. I'mma... bit... drunk."
The words come out of her mouth slow and deliberately with a childlike intonation. If she was feigning helplessness before, it's obvious now that she's just plain hammered now. Now fall-down-and-****-yourself hammered, she was a bit too good for that... But she certainly wasn't sober.
