Any plans on going 64 players like MAG or BF4? If this is already in the game, would somebody kindly direct me on how to access it. So far I been playing only faction battles and they seem to be 16 vs 16 (aka 32 players)
I like the large scale feel of shooters like MAG and Resistance 2. But some game simply dont do it. Would be pretty cool. I wouldnt mind redownloading this game for the PS4 if it introduces 64 player battles.
Great work BTW. I like the game so far. cant wait till its much better. |

this use to be something i was interested in but not so much now, more players on one map would be nice, but it is not essential and there are some other updates i would like to see before this imo. |

Not gonna happen on PS3 anytime soon. I don't even think it's possible that DUST can do it even if the game is fully optimized. |

You know this game actually advertises as 24v24 for a total of 48 player matches. Its all over there page on the PSN store, as well as on the more information screen when you go to any download or such.
This has to be false advertising? Are they going to make 24v24 player battles or just bullshit the world with there lies on the store? |

Current maps are better suited for 48 or 64 player battles than the current 32 player battles, so hopefully we'll get at least 48 players soon.
Unless they want to wait until the PS4 version in 2015, although if that was the case it makes no sense to design maps for a different amount of players in battle than you will have for a while.
Then again, CCP and logic don't usually go hand in hand. |

False Advertising guys. CCP on the PSN store, DUST 514 game information SAYS " 2 - 48 players" then other places reads "48 player battles"

I've been wondering about this for a while as well. I think if you upped the player cap to 48 and allowed team deploy you could score some major points with the player base. I'm not clear on what actually stops or constrains the game to 32 players...but onto e surface it seems like it should be a simple (but perhaps difficult to implement) fix. |

As others have pointed out, the current limitation is likely due to PS3 constraints. When they release on PS4 or other more powerful platforms next year I'd expect to start to see larger individual battles.
However, I really hope to see individual battles linked into larger multi-district battles. For example, a faction warfare fight over an entire planet with ten districts might have a single scoreboard for the whole thing, ending only when one side has 8 or more of the districts at the same time. Players/squads would by default move on to another battle on the same planet for the same faction on completing a battle.
This would mean we would essentially have a 160 v 160 fight going on, but without putting any more stress on the game engine than it currently has. |

If Skirmish 1.0 ever gets readded (As in 1 MCC vs defenders) then FW could take on a bit different play style:
One faction owns a planet, and they occasionally get attacked by opposite faction who has X MCCs vs Defenders who has Y clones. (for example, 10 MCCs (And 800 clones) vs 1000 clones or something) at the end of each battle, Clone losses are tallied and subtracted from main score. MCC losses are similarly tallied. If Defender runs out of clones, then Attacker takes planet, like wise if Attacker loses all clones, he gets kicked off.
However, if Attacker loses all MCCs but not all clones, the battle goes to Ambush game mode, but with Attackers taking X% extra casualties due to Logistical Losses.
Battles would continue on the planet, and squads could have the option once a battle ends to continue in the same conflict. (Once the ability to join a fight from the end of battle screen is added) |

It is a cost/benefit thing: the effort required to support more than 32 players isn't worth the time they'd have to invest to achieve it.
Of course, I strongly suspect Dust can operate just fine with more than 32 players in a battle most of the time. However, until their testing tells them that it is fine all of the time they are unlikely to change. |
