The market before 1.4 was incredibly convenient and useful it seems stupid to change it. It took me a while to find things like equipment upgrades and will take some time to know where everything is on the skill tree. What was the point of getting rid of a feature that enabled you to look at an items stats prerequisites how the module/weapon will be affected by upgrading and being able to upgrade on the spot?

Read the items description? It tells you all the skills you need for said item.

That old market was a mess, far too many lines of skill prerquisites made it a nightmare to figure what suits were what ... most of the rest of it was fairly unobtrusive, but did you look through the dropsuits section before 1.4 ... it was impossible to work out what race and level of suits you were looking at.

The better option is something I've been asking for for over a year now ... a bit of interactivity with the 'Show Info' window so you can train skills from an items prerequisites ... and better still buy modules, weapons etc. from a skills 'Show Info' panel in a new (skills only) tab 'Required For' which lists the stuff this skill unlocks grouped by the skill level required to unlock it.

EDIT : We can already scroll through the lines on that Show Info window ... all we need is an X to bring up a menu saying Train skill or Go to Marketplace or Purchase Skillbook etc.

EDIT2 : Even the 'Variations' tab could have options to Show Info on them, or buy them or View Prerequisites.

A simple X over the skillbook would be helpful and or maybe slight greying (no red striping) out the items you can't use yet because of lacking skills or something (but don't prevent buying them still)

I don't have the game open right now, a bit to lazy and possibly other things right now to open it, but whats different? I didn't notice a chance and was away on vacation during deployment so missed a lot of what went into the patch.

Why don't we ever see any Devs/CPM/GMs in-game?

Wait... I actually see Logi Bro sometimes.

You used to be able to level-up skills from the market for the things you were about to buy. This is no longer the case. It was incredibly convenient, especially for those of us that have trouble remembering which skill you need to level up and how far it needed to be leveled.

:( I would love to play around as CCP FoxFour.

We currently have the same rules in DUST as we do in EVE for how devs interact.

The basic rules are dev characters are not allowed to interfere with the universe.

Players are not allowed to know the devs player characters (ie. the ones we play with).

This is important in EVE because it really is one big sandbox and anything we do could have lots of unknown impacts.

In DUST this is a bit less important as the Public Contracts (instant battles) don't really have an impact on the universe. Well aside from the fact that the gear people lose costs ISK. From what I understand some of the community team, CCP Logibro and CCP Frame for example, are experimenting with playing with their dev characters on TQ in Public Contracts with some rules. I would love to join them but they have some stuff to work through first.

Thank you very much, I didn't notice that. Don't think I have even looked at the market in 1.4, just been restocking existing fits.

My way you could see what slots a proto suit has from the skill tree ! ... just 'show info' on the skill, tab across to the 'Required For' tab, scroll down to level 5 where it'll show the proto version and X to 'Show Info' on it. You could then have O to cancel ie. close the Show Info window or [] to go 'Back' to the skill 'Show Info' window.

Precedent is already set in Eve for this kind of connectivity and I've been asking for it since ... well ... 2012.07.28 17:21

I guess it's your department in a way ... certainly your departments interest in harassing the voice chat guys lol.

Didn't get much response to that thread, but it was posted in the wrong section for that and wasn't talking about MD or vehicles or AR514 or anything :-(

Would appreciate if you could look into it, ta.

The skill requirements in market are removed. Why? It was so helpful to see the list of skills you need for that item and to be able to purchase them right there without having to navigate the skill section
