Stats, stats, stats ....if your stats are amazing you will get into one of the so call "Top Corps", even if you actually suck badly.
Big corps only care about how you can contribute to their position in the Leader-boards |

while I pull the strings... every member has a say in what strings are pulled...
We currently have a good business relationship with STB, and STB has used our services for their benefit on countless occasions...
I'm not sure QG would want me to tell him we cannot aide STB any more cause some hormonal teenager in his corp offended my players and they no longer wish to help STB when asked.
furthermore, I know for a FACT he doesn't want to get a message from concord with our names attached....
Unlike the grunts, QG knows the bigger picture, and knows we have the power and the unlimited ISK to bring your emprire down to LESS than its previous low point...

Personally, I love my Corp because they're a bunch of nice guys, they are exactly that kind of people you always have fun with, but we are generally open to new players and in the end this makes us a "relaxed" Corp, even though part of us kicks butts (there's a huge skill gap among our members). But I'm pretty sure it's very different for those "Top" Corps. I'd like to know "fun" is an important factor, but of course skill is a priority for competitive corporations.
Besides K/D Ratio (I don't know how important it is, after all), what are the recruitment criteria for such high-level Corps?
Just to add something that I didn't before. CLANS AND CORPS are different. The TOP corps here doesn't necessarily mean they have the top players. As in like the top clans in most FPS games.
In most fps games running into any member of a top clan by themselves and you know it's gonna be a fight.
can't say the same about this game.

Top corps, and I mean corps like TP, RND and AE, are not top corps because they have the best players, but because they have the best teams. Of course, their players are also very good, but they are more than a bunch of KDRs thrown together.
KDR is important, of course. It must not be spectacular, but it must be good enough so they know you will be able to do your part, and not hold back the rest of the team.
But KDR is not the only thing. In the end, everytime they recruit someone they look for what can you bring to the team. AR assaults with a KDR of 4+ are dime a dozen. Dedicated scouts with a KDR of 4+ are rare. So are Dropship pilots or good tank drivers. If you are good in useful roles that not many people can fulfill, your chances of getting accepted increase by a lot.
There is also the part of your character. It does not matter if you have a KDR of 10+. If you can't follow the plan, or when the GC gives an order you always have a better idea, or you are a perpetual drama queen, and don't change your ways, they will kick you from the corp or not accept you.
If you are really something else they will cut some slack for you, but in the end it will not matter if you are the best killer in the game. If you can't work with others to secure a win, then you are out. And what top corps want, above all else, is winning. That's the reason why they are top corps.
And then, they must like you. Or at least, not dislike you. So some social skills are required.
So in short, they will check:
-How good you are individually. -What roles do you fulfill and if they have a use for you. Heavy knifers are not in great demand. -If you are the kind of guy that will sacrifice a win just to not have bad personal score. -How do you get along with the rest of the team/leadership.
All four are important. Fail any of those, and they wont want you. |

Corp Battles, do them. have people annoyed when they see you on the other side. Step 6. Join PC... find out 8v8 your team is great, but 16v16 you just can;t make it. Step 7. Have corp leave PC Step 8. Get recommendation to join a different top corp. Step 9. Have CEO quit game. Step 10. mail CEO, Director, or well known player about desire to join new corporation Step 11. receive response and apply to corp.

Most people in TEamplayers already have opinions of SVER an of you regynum. So lets let these fine people continue discussing there ideas of top corp regulations an lets get back to wat we both do well.
SVEr an TP are friends some of us hangout outside of game an talk sports or other hobbies. So if a simple disagreement between Trolls thinks it can waiver that . WEll GL. Going to highjack this one just a bit. Wouldn't it be nice if there were established conventions for conveying all of the information that is lost through text/electronic communication? The internet is probably mature (as in old/developed...) enough to support a means to denote the para-lingual and prosodic character of what you're trying to communicate (beyond typing in caps or adding superfluous punctuation.)The ways we speak, as well as the kinesic, haptic and proxemic components of language are often lost in translation, so to speak.
Cheers,
Aramis |
