Everyone said that the aiming was bad and knew that CCP turned the aim assist off. We all asked for a change....they put aim assist on and now ask for it to be turned off??? And why?...cause some of you got shot by a MLT submachine gun?
With aim assist on, you still need to aim. It isn't autobot, you can still miss. If you're better than the average without aim assist, then you will still be better than the average with the assist and even more so. If you get pwned by an MLT, blame yourself, don't blame aim assist. Because you have aim assist as well and if he killed you then that may mean that you were missing him more than he was missing you.
Hit detection is better and maybe that's why it feels like aim assist is doing all of the work. We run around with 600hp, 700hp, 900ehp and still don't expect to die. Either way...we asked for the change and got it now asking for it back. I'm saying, man up..aim assist is hardly killing this game. So, a toxin owns you...aim better.

Because my Scout is being shot around corners, being beaten in CQC because of lolHipfireAimAssist.
And any 1v1 now comes down to a battle of who has more eHP.
I liked it better when aiming was broken. |

When Uprising 1.0 hit the scene, the aim mechanics were the biggest thing here on the forums. It was clearly broke and drove a lot of people away from the game. CCP has made at least two attempts to solve it prior to 1.4. Now, it's too good because people are dying?? |

This is no win no matter what happens people will find something to blame for dieing to be honest i want the aim assist to stay it barely makes a difference to me but it seem to help rookies and people who are generally new to this game this game is terrible for new guys and this is a step in right direction, also i like the new gameplay this is creating i cant run out and expect dancing about to keep me alive for long enought to take out enemies that should have had me as someone who has survived stuff he should have died by using strafing which in combo with the old hitdetection i cant help but feel its a cheap trick as its not that hard to do,
Also now you can see people taking positions to defend to supress attackers on objectives and you notice people looking of flanks so on so forth its bloody fun to play and some of the most fun ive had in this game in a while feels good to take out a dug in enemy position by force.
I know the latter is essentialy a personal preference but so is people arguements about aim assist stoppiing them from using skills face it if they were truely skilled they would still excell at this build or at least i hope aiming and using broken hitdection to out move everyone was all they had. |

This is a "Console" game... and CCP have found one of the Best aim-assist i have ever seen in a "Console" game.
Is clean, is smooth, not to obvious... but spot on with the "Assisting" bit.
Anyone that thinks that this aim-assist is bad.. is because they have their own personal agenda ; Prototype Dominance
So i say... YES! keep it, this is one of the best things that has happen to Dust 514.

only thing they need to check on is people still getting hit after there behind cover, its happened a couple times to me. not sure if the hit boxes are to big or it has to deal with line of sight |

People said aiming was bad because of a terrible acceleration curve.
I don't know if they actually fixed that or not (planning to test today. best workaround previously was high sensitivity, which I still have set), but part of what you're calling a "solution" is adding aim assist, which has no relevance at all to the acceleration problem. |

That getting hit behind cover i have been on both sides of that and i went into cover only to die and one time i shot someone went into cover then got a kill i think it may be some form of lag the shot is registered at a hit shot but when it reaches the other person client they die iam not 100% sure but thats what it seems like to me |

I'm not a dev nor do I know the technicalities of game design. All that I know is that it was game-breaking broke before and CCP. Made an attempt or two to fix it, unsuccessfully. Now, it is fixed. |

I dont run proto but you watch this game die now because of that stupid aim assist. NO SKILL required anymore. Even throwing a grenade has aim assist. This game is already starting to die because of this stupid aim assist update. The armor buffs are almost useless because of this. Im talking about people with heavys. The people that enjoy having aim assist now just tells me one thing, you sucked before the update came out. |

And you should check people Stats before you say they suck ... my main focus have ALWAYS been War Points, and assisting. So how exactly i suck before the update ?.. i still going to focus in assisting, because honestly... i don't give a **** about K/D ratio. |

This game was dying when Uprising came out when aiming was broke. This new system isn't going to make nubs better than good players. Everyone gets the same assist and if it increases skill, it will increase everyone's skill on the same level. So nubs may be better nubs and good players will be better players. |

I agree with all of this....matchmaking is the game killer here... while I see a huge improvement from yesterday its still buggy, and with the aim assist/ hit detection fix I question whether its even needed now...
suffice it to say, its not doing its intended job anyway

Equalised turn speeds mean, even if I sneak up on an enemy, they've still got a fair chance of killing me.
Killing a Scout doesn't even require aim anymore, ARs are beating me in CQC, I've gone from getting +10/0 Scores, to 1:1 Scores. |

It's really three(maybe four) things.
1) Core aiming mechanics are considerably better, even without AA on.
2) Hit detection is considerably better.
3) AA is working, exactly as intended. Imo it's a very responsible and non-intrusive implementation of AA.
4) Strafe speed are reduced slightly from 1.3 - again, as intended.
Personally, i think it has added a lot to the quality of the game.
And i say man up also, peeps.
Most importantly, most vitally, DUST is going to feel a HELL OF A LOT better to new players. And reviewers. Really the only thing that looks bad is all the QQ on the forums. |

AT LEAST make the aim assists less effective the more sp a character has to stop proto stompers from stomping quite so badly and p*ssing new players off.
Although I would prefer (an I'm sure a lot of others in my position would too) for the 1.3 aiming mechanics to be used. |

The only difference I have found since the introduction of aim assist is I have been getting killed by malitia wepons and npc corpies more often than usual. I am still melting the same ammount of mercs as I was before the update and the aim assist dosent bother me tbh. Iv also found that good use of the acctive scanners has allowd my squads to get the drop on enimy reds and allowd us to strike first on many occasions. If the proto diehards are so adiment that aim assist is a bad thing then why not oettition for it to be removed from pc only after all all these proto diehard scrubs claim this is the only game mode that matters. I personally welcome the aim assist if it helps to retain the player base and helps to draw in more players. |
