So we all know Scout LAV's are ****. So I got a few ideas on how to make them better:
First is the Probe Launcher How it works is it sends out 8 probes from a probe launcher from somewhere on the LAV. They launch form a pre-designed scanning pattern (could have designs for the pilot per fit for different kinds of situations, or ingame), and they scan a area with the power of say a adv. to PROTO active scanner depending on SLAV level, over a very large area. Now, after a set time, they will return to the SLAV, and the launcher will go on cooldown. Also, the probes could be shot down, making the cooldown longer, and if all get shot down, it gets double cooldown time. Also, if the SLAV goes out of a set range, the Probes will return to it. Lastly, if the SLAV dies, the Probes will go offline, and crash into the ground.
Next idea is a built-in EMP. What it does is send a fairly large blast around it, downing any dropsuit shield, does lots of shield damage to vehicles and installiations, and kills off any equipment. It also screws with the tacnets of the affected for a short period of time, as well as slows down everything that moves, and screws with any tracking devices, explosives in flight, as well as doesn't allow anything device that tracks to lock and track it. As a negative, it slows down the SLAV when used, and as a very high cooldown to prevent abuse.
My last idea is just a basic one: raise the base eHP by 400, and the speed by 25 km/hr. That is all.

If anything needs to change, all LAV types need LESS HP, not MORE.
Scouts are "underpowered" only in comparison with other LAVs which are too strong.
I wouldn't mind a sensor drone active module for vehicles, with Scout LAVs getting a fitting bonus for them. But they definitely don't need more HP. |

-Much higher base speed and acceleration
-Slightly more defenses (either base or PG/CPU for fitting) so they're not one-shotted by basic AV nades (seriously, they're +100k isk each, and almost impossible to fit effectively (and tanks complain...))
-Skill should greatly increase: turret tracking, damage, and/or range either by skills or innately (by 50-75%, the increased fire power is kept in check by it's pathetic defenses)
-Add a stock equipment module (probably an active scanner, cloaking device, fuel injector, etc).
Done, it's fixed. |

If you heavily shield-tank you SLAV, and the Militia Swarms are without any damage mods or damage-buffing skills on the shooter, then MAYBE you can survive.
As it stands, YOU MOVE FASTER THAN SWARM MISSILES, so yeah, if (and in good hands, that's a BIG "if") they hit you, you're going to die. |

I run a couple of AV builds, and I run tanks, and I have friends who run Logi LAVs and Dropships, as well as having an alt that I actually skilled into SLAVs.
At present, SLAVs are probably the only vehicle in the game that's balanced the way I think it should be in terms of HP. Other LAV models have way too much, HAVs and Dropships have slightly too little. That's not to say SLAVs wouldn't benefit from some scout-related modules that allow them to perform their role better - just like Scout suits need a buff.
And AV Grenades need a nerf too, because they aren't meant to function as a full-featured primary weapon with no AV-specific investment required to make them work (same skills apply to Locus Grenades). |

Just adding an active scanner or a scanning bonus would do wonders for these things. But small turrets are going to need a complete rework to make the turret tracking bonus worthwhile. |

Lol at the idea of SLAVs being "balanced" (which I look at as a whole vehicle description). I agree that the health is more acceptable for it's role than the LLAV (the std LAVs are fine, imo), "balance" is not how I would describe it because it implies that it has some way of making up or compensating this detriment.
Right now, there's no reason to use the SLAV over any other LAV, even militia. Really the only thing is has is slightly more acceleration, but that's it. Considering it has less health, lower PG/CPU and fewer slots, no to speed difference, no turret or module benefits, +300k SP minimum to use, and to top it all off costs 3x as much as std LAVs, it's probably the most unbalanced, underpowered vehicle in the game.
I added my opinion for fixes above. The reason I chose them is to make the LAV an actual scout-class vehicle. One that is very fast, very nimble, able to dish out punishment but can't take much back, forcing it to play more of a support role that front line fighting. |

this +1,i have 1 used it once(abron)and went back to methana only 3 module slots, same ehp as a mlt and the thing takes like 75% damage when u scrape walls/crates anything, too damn fragile. |

I think it should come with a great active scanner built into it. Better than the top active scanner, and like the remote modules on the Logi LAVs, cannot be taken off or purchased on the market. I first skilled into the scout LAVs because at the time I thought they had scanners, but I was wrong.
It would give purpose to using the Callisto and Abron. |

I would like to see that. Would be amazing. Would require a working afterburner, and all torque mods in the lows. |

Well, you could add a active scanner to any vehicle and get the same result, as those things are pretty good by themselves, so it would make it as useless as the CRU's built into the Logi DS's. The reason why I said Probes is a even more powerful scanner, but you don't have to be right there for it to work, so you could scan down other areas, and keep a specific area scanned down. |

Well, if you kill the paper thin SLAV, the probes will stop scanning, and it can't EMP you again.

Another 2 ideas-
Camera drone: launches a controllable drone that allows
1: Faster lock on to targets
2: (assuming artys work like this) allows artillery and other things ti kick onto a place and launch towards that said location.
1: weakpoints on the enemy told to you (vehicle weak points are highlighted for you, 2-5% damage bonus depending on level on anything)
Stasis Bubble: Picture a interdiction bubble and a stasis webifier combined. yea, that.
