Immortal Guides has been supporting the dissemination of knowledge within New Eden since August 31, 2013.
I am Fox Gaden, Director of Operations for Immortal Guides. You may know me as the author of the Fox Guide series:
Fox Guide: Sniping, The Role of the Sniper Fox Guide: Marksman, Taking Sniper to the next level Fox Guide: Swarm Launcher, Unleashing the Swarm Fox Guide: SMG, Unlocking Versatility Fox Guide: Remote Explosives, Unleash the Mad Bomber
Immortal Guides was created to support people who want to share their knowledge. Whether you wish to be a Guide, or wish to write a Guide; whether you wish to guide mercenaries on the battlefield or guide readers through the politics and intrigues of New Eden, Immortal Guides has a place for you.
Our doors are also open to people seeking guidance. We are open to experienced and inexperienced players alike. We even have an Alt program for experienced players whoGÇÖs mains are committed to another Corporation. (See below.)
New Players: Immortal Guides has no skill point or KDR requirement for membership. What we are looking for are players who want to learn, and in particular players who want to learn to work together. You will find that playing as a team is more fun; you have better success; and even when facing better players in better gear an organized squad can often hold some ground and avoid being completely Redlined.
We strongly encourage our members to get microphones, because there are things that every member of a squad is responsible for reporting to the Squad Leader, so that the Squad Leader can make informed decisions. If you donGÇÖt have a mic, then it is essential that you turn on voice in the Options menu and activate voice in your squad channel so you can hear your Squad LeaderGÇÖs directions.
Experienced Players: Immortal Guides is looking for experienced players who want to share their knowledge. If you have commitments to your current Corp, see the Alt Program below.
Immortal Guides has a mandate to help support members in their projects; to help them polish and refine their work to be the best it can be. We offer a place where you can post your draft documents, links to your videos, or plans for a program you wish to offer; and get constructive and helpful feedback from your peers before posting your work publicly. (Or we will offer this as soon as we get the Corp forums up and running.)
If you like helping new mercenaries learn to be effective on the battlefield, we hope to attract a decent sized pool of new players seeking guidance.
If you want fun people to squad up with, think about the type of people I am trying to attract to this Corp. I for one am looking forward to squadding with the type of motivated players who are inspired to give back something to the community. I am also looking forward to squadding with new players who are eager to learn and improve themselves. Seeing their improvement will be quit gratifying.
Alt Program: Many of the most experienced players in the game have that experience because they are competitive at the tope level, and are not likely to want to leave their competitive Corps to join a small neutral knowledge Corp. This is where the Alt Program comes in.
Immortal Guides invites competitive players, or anyone who wants to be involved, but has commitments elsewhere, to join Immortal Guides with an Alt character. This will allow you to take advantage of what Immortal Guides has to offer, and to give back, without affecting your Main.
If you choose to announce your MainGÇÖs identity, then your main will be considered an Associate member of Immortal Guides. If you post work on your Main after getting help refining it from Immortal Guides, we would ask that you include a line acknowledging that support: GÇ£Produced in association with Immortal Guides.GÇ¥
While a certain amount of banter or razzing is understandable if two members find themselves to be on opposite sides of a war, you are expected to maintain a level of civility and respect with all members. It is best to remember that Immortal Guides is neutral ground, and I have a low tolerance for drama.
Respect: Most rules of conduct within the Immortal Guides can be boiled down to treating people with Respect, with the expectation that you will be treated with respect in turn.
Immortal Guides promotes a relaxed and laidback environment for its members. Debate and constructive criticism is encouraged, but put-downs, harassment, and bullying will not be tolerated.
All genders, orientations, races, and ages are welcome, but a certain level of maturity is expected. A 12 year old who knows how to act around adults will be more welcome that a 40 year old who thinks playing a game makes it ok to act immature.

Wanted:
- New Mercenaries: We are accepting new mercenaries seeking guidance. Immortal Guides and BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades are part of a Learning Coalition which will allow students from either Corporation access to the combined educational resources of both organizations.
- Instructors (Living Guides): Instructors, or Guides, will have direct access to students in both Immortal Guides, and BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades. This pool of students may expand as other groups and organizations join our Learning Coalition.
- Guide Writers: Immortal Guides hosts a writers guild. The intent is to help each other polish our work to make it even better. For writers who have other commitments, we encourage you to join with an Alt to have access to writer discussions, and to exchange rough drafts for critique before the are published publically. New and perspective writers are welcome. We want to help. Show us your work before you expose it to Trolling on the public forum. (This will work better once I get the Corp Forum setup.)
- Reporters: Things are happening in DUST and people are interested in these events. Immortal Guides would support any intrepid reporter who wished to report on the happenings in the gravity wells of New Eden. We feel that editorials and interviews with prominent members of the community would be of interest to the DUST community as well.
- Researchers: Often the patch notes donGÇÖt tell the whole story, and to really understand the mechanics of the game it is necessary to run tests and do calculations. This information can then be shared with the community to further everyoneGÇÖs understanding of the game. Immortal Guides would welcome any mad scientist, math nerd, spreadsheet warrior, or theocrafter who was interested in testing how things really work and publishing their results. As always, you are welcome to join Immortal Guides on an Alt to publish your work if your main has commitments. |

I had everything setup and running like a well oiled machine after my 5 months in charge of the Education Department at DUST University. All the setup work was done. My replacement should have an easy time of it.
Now I am on to new challenges.

Immortal Guides needs some motivated people in US and EU time zones to help with recruiting and to insure the Corp is active in those time slots by forming squads with Corp members and people from the Learning Coalition chat channel.
I am on Atlantic Time (EVE -3 hours) so I can be on in later EU time or early US time for events and training sessions, but I normally play in the morning just before Down Time, which is Prime Time in Australia. So I need some deputies who normally play in EU or US Prime Time to handle day to day activities in those time slots.

I am Fox Gaden, Director of Operations for Immortal Guides.
The CEO of Immortal Guides is my EVE alias Renier Gaden.
I have always been the type of person to get involved in a community and try to help out. Ten years ago I was an avid Rock Climber. I hosted a Rock Climbing website, wrote guides, and mapped rock climbing sites. I worked for a while at a Climbing Gym where I taught Rock Climbing classes and designed climbing routs. I even became the President of a Rock Climbing association which was a Provincially recognized certifying body. I wrote policies and procedures for a Rock Climbing Instructor certification program, and organized various events.
My gaming experience consists mainly of several years of WOW, followed by a few years of EVE Online. I prefer CCP games because if you are away from the game for a month, or even years, you donGÇÖt feel like you have fallen behind when you return.
I came to DUST 514 near the end of the Closed Bata. I have watched this game continuously grow and improve. Granted, DUST 514 was officially released in a state that other gamming companies would consider to be incomplete, but CCPGÇÖs style is to develop their games continuously while incorporating feedback from their players. Three times I have seen/heard CCP reference or implement my game design suggestions, so if you can write your suggestions in a balanced and articulate way, you really can effect the future development of this game. I find that exciting.
As Fox Gaden I was the first Director of Education for DUST University. I held the position for about 5 months, developing DUST UniversityGÇÖs training programs from scratch. When I started with DUST University they had less than 50 members, and when I left they had over 1900 members. I designed their training programs and wrote the Education Department policies. By the time I left everything was setup and running like a well oiled machine.
Now I am on to a new challenge. While DUST University was a big institutional organization with a lot of rules, I always had a soft spot in my hart for the small independent training outfits such as BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades. My new project is to develop a coalition of small training corporations, groups, and individuals, to combine their resources for a more divers and comprehensive training model.
I am the author of several guides: Fox Guide: Getting Started, Your First Steps in DUST Fox Guide: Frontline, A Medium Frame Infantry Users Manual Fox Guide: Sniping, The Role of the Sniper Fox Guide: Marksman, Taking Sniper to the next level Fox Guide: Swarm Launcher, Unleashing the Swarm Fox Guide: SMG, Unlocking Versatility Fox Guide: Remote Explosives, Unleash the Mad Bomber Fox Guide: Battlefield Roles (A Glossary of terms)
Now that I have explained who I am, I encourage each of you to post who you are and what your objectives are. DonGÇÖt worry, I donGÇÖt expect new members have as much history or as many plans as I have

Greetings.
I would love to offer my services in your goal to develop a coalition of small training corporations, groups, and individuals, to combine their resources for a more divers and comprehensive training model.
I have been playing dust since closed beta as well and know a lot about this game. I would love for nothing more than competent help on the battle field and i realize that there are many players new to both dust as well as MMO/ FPS games who may not the experience some other players have.
I am a quite capable squad leader with extensive knowledge in tanking and Logi suit roles specifically and a rather fair amount of knowledge for other suits and variations.
I can help any player maximize the effectiveness of their suits based on their individual goals as a player.
As a logi i feel teamwork is the most important part of the game. I want other people to have fun.
I know i would be a very valuble asset in your goals and i hope you get back to me and we can start working something out.( If you have not already gotten the ball rolling.)
I am very eager for your response. Feel free to contact me through this post or a mail client side
My corporations roles are of the support variety and included in support would be training and logically speaking this is the next step for me to take as leader.(other than more recruiting) |

abarkrishna, you certainly sound like the kind of person we are looking for in our Instructors and Mentors. You can join the Learning Coalition chat channel and be an independent Instructor. Any assistance you can provide to new players in Learning Coalition chat is appreciated. Immortal Guides has over 50 new players that are in the Learning Coalition chat. There are also a few new players from other Corps, but mostly they are in Immortal Guides. You will also encounter Instructors from other Corps in the channel.

Hey, Fox:
How do you feel about getting some of our guys some PC experience? I'm thinking buy a clone pack and attack D-Uni or someone on PFC. I'll try to negotiate with them for Meta2 and below gear only. We need fundraising, though. I can donate a pretty good sum and Mango has a bit of isk stashed away. Your corp has been taxing, yes? We're going to need to grow larger to support this. Hopefully, we can own 1 district.

We need fundraising, though. I can donate a pretty good sum and Mango has a bit of isk stashed away. Your corp has been taxing, yes? We're going to need to grow larger to support this. Hopefully, we can own 1 district. Numbers are misleading. While everyone thinks DUST is dying because they only see the number of people on at one time, we have the opposite problem. With over 70 people in Immortal Guides we rarely have enough people on at the same time to form a full squad. We could probably get more if we announced it ahead of time, but I donGÇÖt think we have enough to field a team of students yet.
I am aiming for 200 members, which should insure there is always enough on to form a squad, and with enough notice should allow us to get 10 to 12 of them plus instructors together for a PC battle.
Also, the majority of my members donGÇÖt have mics yet. PC is a little more advanced. I am not sure if my membership are developed enough yet to get much out of it. Some are ready, but not enough yet.
As for ISK, I set the tax rate at Immortal Guides at 0.1% so the Corp is only getting about 100 to 200 ISK per member per match. It is enough for me to calculate what could be generated if I rased the tax, but since almost all of my members are very new, I am not inclined to do that.
I have 35 Million ISK that Bojo The Fantastic gave me for contributing on the Rookie Training Grounds forum, which I could probably contribute to the pot to help pay for one match, but I donGÇÖt have much beyond that. I tend to die a lot. When I am getting Proto Stomped I just canGÇÖt bring myself to stop trying. I died 18 times on my Heavy in one Domination this morning, trying to break a fortified position. So I tend to have to buy a lot of suits. It does not leave me with much extra cash.
When our Student Body is more developed, and we have a larger membership, then running PC matches against D-Uni will definitely be worth doing, but I donGÇÖt think we are ready yet.

As of this morning Immortal Guides had 114 students, plus management.
As you can see by our stats on Dustboard.com, Immortal GuidesGÇÖ membership consists of some management and veterans from Beta, and a lot of very new players (our students).
Immortal Guides has also come into possession of a Planetary Conquest district, one of two belonging to the Learning Coalition, which we intend to use for training and for holding public tournaments and other events for the community. |

Your application will be accepted the next time the CEO, a Director, or a Personnel Director is online. There are currently 4 or 5 Corp members who can accept applications. If you had roles in your previous Corp, there is a 24 hour wait time before we are able to accept your application. That is not a policy thing, it is due to a game mechanic.
