A lot of my members did not have a mic when they joined. Although many of the ones who have stuck around for a while ended up getting one.
Just go to the Corporation tab and use the Search feature to find Immortal Guides. Then click on it and select the Apply option. Since we are geared toward taking new players, often in their first few days in the game, we have no prerequisites.
I do recommend getting a mic though. You will learn a lot faster and have a lot more fun if you are capable of participating in two way communication. Failing that, make sure you go into the Options menu and activate Voice, so you can at least hear the people in your squads who do have mics. You can learn a lot from listening to more experienced players communicate.
I am happy to have people without mics in my squads, provided they can hear me, but I like to have at least one other person in the squad with a mic, because if I donGÇÖt hear anyone on coms I forget to communicate. In those situations, even when I do remember to talk, a feel rediculous jabbering away to myself.

The meaning behind the Immortal Guides Logo: (Click on the red triangle next to my name to see it.)
- The triangle is the most stable shape and symbolizes a strong and stable foundation. - The three arrows pointing in different directions symbolize choice, and indicate that you can follow any path from this point.
We at Immortal Guides try to provide new players with a strong foundation of knowledge so that they can be successful in whichever path they chose to follow.

Immortal Guides currently has 287 members. Last time I checked 94 or them were active DUST players, having logged on in the past week.
Lets hope that 1.8 gives some of the others a reason to log in again...

Student Planetary Conquest Project
For students who are interested in doing Planetary Conquest, Immortal Guides is willing to support and facilitated such efforts if a group of wishes to take it on as a Student Project. This support would include providing participants with the correct roles and insuring that there is enough ISK in the Corp wallet to pay for a clone pack. (Immortal Guides is accepting donations to help finance this project.)
In order to qualify the Project Leader will have to present me with a workable business plan. Planetary Managers, Diplomats, the Field Commander, Squad Leaders, and at least 16 people that can participate in the same 1 hour time frame must be identified. You will have to identify the times (EVE time) that your team can operate at full capacity. At least 10 of your team must be Corp members. The other six plus alternates can be ringers.
Please present your business plan on the Corporate Forum where we can discuss any issues and get them ironed out. If you have questions about how the mechanics work, ask on the Corporate Forum and I will attempt to answer, or find you an answer. We did own a district for a few weeks in December before I gave the district back to the Corp which donated it, so I have some experience.
There is no restriction on which Corp you can attack, but I must insist that you are completely honourable in any dealings or diplomacy you undertake. While the shadier side of the Meta Game is legit, it is not something I want to allow to taint my CorpGÇÖs reputation. I will want to be informed of who you are attacking and when, so that I can send a note to their CEO explaining that this is a student project, but that they should treat it as a legitimate attack (unless you have negotiated a training match).
Unless you really do your homework and train hard, I expect you will get your assess kicked, but you will learn a lot in the process, and you will have real Planetary Conquest experience on your resume when you go to apply to a PC Corp later. For those of you organizing this, you will have experience that normally only Corp leadership have, which will help you rise in the ranks in your next Corp.
If you do manage to take and hold a district, after the Corps original investment is paid back, the funds generated by the district will be distributed to the participants in the project. Furthermore, when the Project Lead decides to move to a new Corp, they will have the option to have the district transferred to their new Corp.
If you wish to try something a little less ambitious, you may setup a training match with another Corp. This will involve diplomacy, contacting the Corp CEO and coming to an agreement on terms for the battle. This may give you an opportunity to work through all the mechanics of running a PC match, but only having to fight that corpGÇÖs new recruits, or both teams only using Militia and Standard gear. Even with a training match I will require a full Business Plan before I back the project.
Terms and conditions of the Student Planetary Conquest Project may change as things develop. I have many different variables to consider, including the CorpGÇÖs reputation.
Renier Gade / Fox Gaden / Crash Gaden
Addendum:
Other Learning Coalition Corps: For every two members on another Learning Coalition Corp you include on your team you may decrease the mandatory number of Immortal Guides members by 1. The other Learning Coalition Corporations are: Learning Coalition College Terrestrial Suppression Force R 0 N 1 N
Team Names: It would be helpful for reference and keeping track of the project if you come up with a name for your Student Planetary Conquest Project team. (Try to keep it tasteful.)
16+ Members: A Planetary Conquest match has 16 players per side. But real life happens and people canGÇÖt always make it when they are supposed to. I recommend having at least 2 alternates, preferably more.

You are immortal. Your consciousness is transferred and downloaded into another body every time you die.

If you did not die, but a copy of your consciousness wes downloaded into another clone, would the second also be you, or would it be a copy of you? If you die, is the copy really you, or is it a copy of you? Were you just a copy of some other guy that was stupid enough to step on a Remote Explosive? Does your past belong to someone else? Is your future finite, or can copied data contain your soul?

We were having attendance issues, so we gave the district back. We will revisit Planetary Conquest training when we are better prepared. We are currently focused on building capacity within the Corp.
The membership drive was just one step, and it continues. Keep in mind that the active membership is spread across all time zones, and includes a lot of casual players who only log on a couple times a week. Still, we are getting more regulars as well.
We are also working on getting our members used to working together as a team. We have put a lot of enthuses on Corp squads over the last couple of weeks and are now to the point of having a Corp squad running most nights. We have a fun crowd in the Corp right now, and I have greatly enjoyed the Corp squads that I have run.

Will you guys accept a casual player like me? I don't play as much as I used to. Stats as follows: got 40 million SP. Specialize in Assault and Sentinel roles. Not the best at tank driving, could learn better skills. I'm a little rusty because I haven't played in a while. Do have roles in scout and logi.

Our main focus right now is getting Corp squads going as often as possible, and recruiting new members in order to get multiple Corp squads. This weekend we peaked at two corps squads containing 9 members. At our peak we had 19 members logged in, but I expect many of them are still lone wolfing. New players often feel intimidated about joining squads. We want to make it easy for them to get into squads and see how fun it is.
If you can help us get squads going and focus on making sure everyone is having fun, then we donGÇÖt care how rusty you are. We need to get new players used to squadding up before we can work on any more advanced team tactical training. Make it fun, and the team work will follow.

Understood. I can assist with that.
Just to inform so you know of my status. I'm currently leading a clan in another game, while also just recently becoming a new Dad. So those two aspects, with the latter being more demanding, will take up most of my time. I want to get back into playing Dust and I was looking for an active corporation that could take a guy that probably doesn't be on as much, but still saves a seat for him when he does log on.
Immortal Guides sounds cool cause you get to help out other guys. Always appreciated that you held that role in the Dust 514 forums. While I'm not entirely the same caliber as the elite, I still can hold my own and have had my fair share of experience in Dust 514 that I wouldn't mind passing on to others.
My current corporation is no longer active here in Dust, so I decided to send you guys an application with my character stats today.
