Not the best at tank driving, could learn better skills. I'm a little rusty because I haven't played in a while. Do have roles in scout and logi. Our main focus right now is getting Corp squads going as often as possible, and recruiting new members in order to get multiple Corp squads. This weekend we peaked at two corps squads containing 9 members. At our peak we had 19 members logged in, but I expect many of them are still lone wolfing. New players often feel intimidated about joining squads. We want to make it easy for them to get into squads and see how fun it is. If you can help us get squads going and focus on making sure everyone is having fun, then we donGÇÖt care how rusty you are. We need to get new players used to squadding up before we can work on any more advanced team tactical training. Make it fun, and the team work will follow.
I'm down for some squad missions. I'll be on later tonight |

Creating the Learning Alliance has dramatically expanded the number of people our members can squad with. Now instead of running Corp squads we run Alliance squads. Last night we had 3 full Alliance squads (6/6) running at the same time, with two other partial squads.
There are currently 3 Corporations in the Learning Alliance, and 4th Corporation has expressed interest.

The latest graduating class from Immortal Guides has formed a new Corp called Destinys Immortals [DTIOS].
Destinys Immortals is the latest member of the Learning Alliance. We wish them success and prosperity. They are a good group of guys and I would happily recommend this Corp to anyone who enjoys playing Pubs and Minmitar Faction warfare with a group of fun and relaxed people.
Wait... did I just recommend another Corp in my Corporate recruitment thread?

I am looking for a new Corporation, as the one I am in right now is, as far as I can tell, dead. I am not very skilled at the game, but would like to improve. I am a very casual player, though, and may not be in game for long periods GÇö sometimes I play other games for a while, sometimes I watch TV or live streams.
Would this Corporation be the right place for me? |

Would this Corporation be the right place for me? Immortal Guides would be a good choice for you. I don't even kick people for inactivity, so if you decide to take a month off, you don't have to worry. We have also been active for close to a year and a half, so there is less chance of you coming back and finding your Corp dead. As long as you treat everyone with respect when you do play, we are happy to have you.

This is an in-game mail I received today from Hexia Kimishi:
Quote:I WANT TO THANK YOU, RENIER. WHAT I LEARNT IN YOUR CORP HAS HELPED ME MASSIVELY, AND I'LL REMEMBER IT FOR THE REST OF MY JOURNEY. YOU'RE DOING A GREAT THING, HELPING THE NEW PLAYERS. IT'S TIME FOR ME TO CARRY ON WITH MY JOURNEY, AND I JOINED HORIZON'S EDGE, BUT ONLY BECAUSE I FEEL READY, BECAUSE OF WHAT I LEARNT IN IMMORTAL GUIDES. THANK YOU. O7 From what I can tell this is a common sentiment among graduates of Immortal Guides.
Renier Gaden is my EVE Character and CEO of the Corp. The ability to cut and paste in-game mails is another perk of having an EVE character to do Corp administration.

I still consider Immortal Guides to be the second largest training Corp in DUST, even if we do now have more members than DUST University. This is because DUST University removes any member who has not logged on in over a month. While Immortal Guides does not remove members for inactivity. Therefore while Immortal Guides has more members, DUST University still has more active members.
DUST University's active member count seems to be somewhere from two to four times that of Immortal Guides'.
The Learning Coalition may be the largest training organization in DUST, as it rivals DUST University in size. Of course the Learning Coalition includes members from both Immortal Guides and DUST University as well as many other Corporations so that is to be expected.

I audited Immortal Guides member activity again last night.
55 members had logged on in the past 24 hours. 39 more had logged on in the past week. 66 more had logged on in the past month.
So of our 753 members, 160 are active.
We have been averaging between 150 and 170 active members for over a year now, despite having members regularly graduate to other corps. Recently a large number of Immortal Guides members left to form Destiny Immortals. They joined the Learning Alliance and now hold a District which they are using to train for PC.

Real Life has been getting in the way of my responsibilities as CEO for the last 2 months, but that should be rapped up in about a week and I will be able to get back to recruiting and organizing.
In the mean time it looks like one of my Directors picked up a District for our members to train with.

I decided to quote this here as this post does a good job of summing up the Immortal Guides experience for a new player.
Leor Arloc wrote:Don't know where to put this, so I'll share this here (does our corp have an official forum thread? I can't seem to find it):
So far, my character is a month and a week old and this past week was the most interesting so far. - I maxed out my main logi skills (nanohive/needle, repair tool, and drop uplink are now all 5). Currently sitting on 700k sp and pondering on what to level next. I was planning to level scanners, but a lot of people were against it. Does scanning give you WP? - finally found a weapon that I'm comfortable with (assault scrambler rifle) - got an email from chicky chicky BANGBANG saying that I won the corp event by Prisoner 31337 who Contacted me a bit later and sent me the prizes. Honestly, I totally forgot about the event. Was too focused on completing the dailies and trying to max out my skills. Thanks for the ISK, dropsuits, and the weapons. I hope I can use them in the future, but for now, I'm happy with my militia assault scrambler. - joined my first PC. It was really a great experience. All those fancy top end gear, fully coordinated teams, and non stop action. I can't remember the name of the corp that owned the district, but ContraBanJoe was squad leader. He also taught the squad about the EWar setup after the match. I can honestly say that I'm not ready for it yet, but killing people with a militia weapon is SO satisfying. - and to top off this week, I got a Tash Murkon logistics A-1 dropsuit blueprint from a 10 pull. It doesn't have as much equipment slots as my current logi suit, but I don't mind. Still looks awesome.
And that is my story for now.
By the way, thanks for the sniper guides Fox, i learned a lot from them.

Negative Feedback just passed Immortal Guides for all time kills, but Immortal Guides just passed Ancient Exiles.
It is getting interesting as we are getting to the point where most of the Corp names above us on the All time Kills list are very well known Corps.
