B and C are too close together maybe. All stairs seem wide enough for LAV to chase us everywhere. And I can see me crossing that tunnel (http://web.ccpgamescdn.com/dust/news.control/65110/1/Image_20.png) and getting LAVed (yes, I get ran over a lot...). Anyway, it's a new map and that's good news on its own. |

Yesterday I got to talk one-on-one with CCP Logibro in the IRC and he shed a great deal of light on this outpost for me.
Supply Depot You can get on the upper level of this area, you can also fly a dropship through it unscratched. And yes you can see another little interior hallway on the right side.
Aerial View In the top right corner you can see the watch houses. This is actually the interior of the watch houses. Top floor lets out at the overlook while bottom floor lets out at the side of the road. If you look at the side of the exposed reactor core, you can see an entrance. Yes, you can go inside of these. You can't really see it, but in between the reactor cores is this tunnel. It leads to an underground testing lab which we can indeed fight in. |

You do realize that Objective B on the Caldari Orbital Artillery is the only objective within an outpost a vehicle can defend on it's own right? And it's not even there on Iron Delta and Spine Crescent. All the objectives within all the outposts we have now are tucked away in infantry only zones and all vehicles do is guard the roads in between or do stuff outside of the outposts. No different here. |

Caldari Production Facility. Also a Minmatar Cargo Hub outpost is in development. Art team has just started "VERY" basic art blockouts of it.
All "Surface Infrastructures" are currently planned to have a racial variant of each. |

Glass is just textures. And in some cases there is actual glass. Yes, its super space glass / force fields / materials.
Those numbers can be adjusted to allow for increased chances for a outpost to show up in a terrain, but that is not my decision to make or adjust. |

The primary outpost is being built up. The level designer will soon be creating / designing smalls and mediums re-using assets the art team has blocked out. This way we get our re-use of assets in. Though the level designer is free to design and block out prior to that to get the ball rolling. Then make adjustments as needed once he sees how the large sockets re-usable objects work with his original design. |

When Racial outposts start to come out, will you start tieing them into FW or regional space more directly? In Eve you might find other race's corps/outposts even in enemy race's space, but some kind of connection between the system's owners and the sockets would help the immersive experience. |

Which makes me think about this: Amarr outposts. Yes, it sounds awesome, doesn't it? I know it does. Imagine all the golden stuff... It Will be pretty different from the current ones I'm guessing. Will be awesome when they eventually get ready but I agree that sticking with the more basic Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar outposts is the ideal for now. Having more "basic" diversity before stuffing all the glory of the Empire in a gigantic golden Cathedral with a holy orbital cannon attached to it. Yeah, this sounds about right.
On another topic, the Research Lab looks really great. Please let all the people that worked in it know that it looks fantastic and I can't wait to play in it. It may take a while to get the thing done but damn, it's worth it. Nothing like a job well done. :D |

I have on occasion seen a couple of the concept artists fleshing out Amarr styles for environments.

I think it would be too big for the number of players we currently have in the matches. Outposts usually have 3 objectives, that would be 6 objectives in the outposts and not a single one outside. Sometimes they only have 2, though, so maybe a map with two outposts in each side, with 2 objectives each and a single objective in the middle...? I'm not sure I like this concept very much. specially considering the number of players. |

However it could be feasible to possibly mix the allied races stuff in the future? For instance, Gallente and Minmatar. Or possibly a Joint Amarr and Caldari shield production facility or something. |

I think that for this to work you would be stretching it a little. See, you'd have to start designing outposts that are purposefully more advantageous to a certain weapon or style and that's not nice when that asset comes out in a public match. Keeping it for only PC use is also not a good idea since its a lot of resources to create a feature that only a small number of players will ever see. What could be interesting is letting the corporations decide which maps, battlegrounds and maybe even the sockets of the map will appear when they are attacked. They could match it so they could be more familiarized with it or have some previously developed strategy or something, which could be an advantage, but only a marginal one. Plus, its cool to determine for yourself how your district looks like. |

Depends on the play style of the players in there at the time. This map was designed to not let vehicles over power infantry. This was a very specific design direction from our creative director. However, there is a sweet spot in the outpost for vehicles. Especially an HAV. While it won't absolutely dominate, it could take some team work to coordination getting control of that location back. |

As for sniping. All sockets follow a specific design requirement about how they are currently handled. It's more about distance and accessibility than anything. |

People don't seem to be able to notice that they are not supposed to be charging in a Mass Driver user in enclosed space across a corridor. Or to stand still and try to kill someone using a scrambler rifle from 60+m away with an AR. Some weapons shine when they are working in their intended scenario, some ONLY WORK when in their ideal scenario (laser rifle I'm looking at you). Seems like this new outpost will be setting a lot of explosions, as long as that is not the only way to fight in it, which I doubt, it should be fine. I just hope people don't pick too much on the MD.
