Yes, these seven brave tankers were rolling about on the field, all at the same time. If a limiter was supposed to kick in, it didn't. Yes, the enemy hurriedly switched to their swarms (as you can see, "we" lost two tanks).
This is why you can't have nice things. This is why everyone (who already isn't) will eventually carry Proto AV.

* Counted 7 tanks on the field shortly following initial spawn. Immediately grabbed a pen and paper to jot down names. I'm not 100% certain that this guy was one of the seven tankers, as one tank was blown up before I could get to everyone. |

Agreed, IX. This is the first time I've ever seen armor on this scale in an ambush pubmatch (hence the note taking). Nonetheless, I thought it apt to document the observation, in light of recent lobbying by tankers for "no more proto AV". |

Not to say tankers' concerns are without merit. I understand that these guys aren't operating at a profit. If CCP is working on better tanks for 1.5, I hope they keep these sorts of scenarios in mind. The last thing this game needs is another LLAV-like oversight.

That one team spammed tnaks and the other didn't run away, drop uplinks and swarm them senseless? Let's all give a round of applause for people being retar.ded.
if the enemy team were to call in ten tanks on me, my best retort would be to retreat to the edge of the map, load up a missile Gunloggi with 8k shields and proceed to give at least two of my squadies Charbdii so they could rep me then **** every single tank on the field.

Not trying to seem argumentative, but vehicles in standard ambush are a bit OP... They're alright in OMS because of the turret installations and Supply Depots.
People, especially new players, probably choose ambush because they think it's going to be the standard TDM setup. So they spawn in an offensive fit to try and kill as many people as possible and don't think about having to run AV before it's too late... Of course you have people that catch on quick and usually spawn with a FG or something, so that usually helps things. |

I seem to recall me popping you like a dirty scrub in PC more than once. While you were pretty much hiding in your redline.
If I can fist you with my rail tank while you have FG's up top, then you need to think about what calling me no good says about you.

Agreed that if scrubs think tanking is an i-win button it becomes a problem. Right now though, low level tanks are nothing but WP for good tankers, or half skilled AV.
I am not one of the tankers arguing for ridiculous nerfs to AV, nor am I arguing for super buffs to tanks. I don't think they need it.
I've made many posts about how to balance av, but my general consensus is that FG's are fine, swarms need a slight nerf at proto, and AV grenades need to be nerfed to hell above standard in regards to their fitting requirements. I think that if a standard infantry suit wants to roll AV nades, they need to become glass to kill. Not because I don't want them killing me, but because my infantry should be able to roll right over them.
Other than that, I like it that tanking is difficult, it makes it that much more rewarding when i put a good match together. |

So forth and so on. Which would be a great way to keep tanks from being spammed as an easy iwin button (especially in ambush). One tank should be the limit in ambush (zero would be the ultimate, but that will never happen). And in skirmish, perhaps one tank for every two objectives would be balanced. |

oh stop complaining and let people play the game the way they want, as long as they aren't cheating it doesnt matter to me. if all you want is AR against AR then like Spkr said COD is that way ------------> the game is designed to be different, have a variety of weapons, and a fast changing play. interesting, tonight i also encountered a game with 4+ tanks. My dropship couldn't fight all of them and the particle accelerator in the red. assault dropships going to the sky en-mass, tankers running in herds, I think pilots are starting to get more organised. This could be the tipping point, pilots have finally started learning tactics in groups. I look forward to 1.5 |

I have never seen these tankers ever so i assume they are really bad tankers and thus need ambush to pad stats and look good because they would get ther **** pushed in any other mode
But more tanks is fun when grouped with tankers, skirm is still a challenge but more of you means more targets and if you are all spider tanking then lol away |

Agreed, IX. This is the first time I've seen armor on this scale in an ambush pub match (hence the note taking). I thought it apt to document the observation, in light of recent lobbying by tankers for "no more proto AV".
Not to say tankers' concerns are without merit. I understand that these guys aren't operating at a profit. If CCP is working on better tanks for 1.5, I hope they keep these sorts of scenarios in mind. The last thing this game needs is another LLAV-like oversight.

Keep what in mind? That one team spammed tnaks and the other didn't run away, drop uplinks and swarm them senseless? Let's all give a round of applause for people being retar.ded. if the enemy team were to call in ten tanks on me, my best retort would be to retreat to the edge of the map, load up a missile Gunloggi with 8k shields and proceed to give at least two of my squadies Charbdii so they could rep me then **** every single tank on the field.
could luck with trying to do that when a gunni cant get that much of a hp ceiling with no res and no sheild repper. those chabbys wont rep you forever. |

You were never very good AG. I seem to recall me popping you like a dirty scrub in PC more than once. While you were pretty much hiding in your redline. If I can fist you with my rail tank while you have FG's up top, then you need to think about what calling me no good says about you. Unless you have some balls, in which case step up and take the 100 million ISK challenge and we will see what you are all about. I have video bud. But keep revising history. |
