The sad thing is under their plan of one outpost every 2-3 months it will take anywhere from 3 years 2 months to 4 years 9 months to complete the set. Part of me fears they may decide to skip over racial variants of the same type of outpost :(

Overall looks like an awesome map. The only concern I have is that the center square-ish area appears to be inaccessible from the ground which means it will be yet another place where people will use dropships to create a spawn hub. More whack-a-mole. The towers may also be exploitable, but it's hard to tell from the angles of them in the given images. (The multi-story plaza area on the left looks fun though)
Edit: If the plaza area is at the same height or higher, it might be fine though. |

Do those crates move? I hope they do since gallente runs it's factories with drones.
Plus any good fps has levels with moving parts that make it so say,a tank has to wait 20 seconds before it can move past an area. I hope the levels animate soon. the fan in kill zone is a good example too. |

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, CCP. I can't wait to check out the new maps and more importantly, the new sockets. Having these new multi-floor buildings allow for a lot of fun for those who spec into close range combat (heavies and SMG users rejoice).
I can genuinely say this patch is my favorite so far; can't wait to see what you can do with 1.5. |

Thats a good reason to get DS, its the gameplay. If you dont have it you cant do it. That said its very easy to pick players on a high spot with some good sniper players.
The map looks very nice, fantastic..

Looks awesome ... good job.
Yeah you've got to have some inaccessible places for snipers to be dropped off ... but not so high they can't be med-long ranged from somewhere accessible on foot ... that's the main problem with the 6 super high towers in Line Harvest, there's no counter to a sniper other than another sniper.
If you could at least get onto a slightly lower rooftop nearby to put yourself 'just' in range to harass them, they wouldn't be just sat there the entire game scoped in on the same spawn point or entry point waiting for someone to walk past. They'd at least have to keep checking their surroundings for ground troops even if they couldn't get up close they'd be 'exposed' to weapons other than counter-snipers.
Edit : ohh and on the subject ... is there anything stopping you putting some of the older maps back in rotation, just for the variety ? I understand they wouldn't fit in the new socket systems, but the more variety while you're working on these new structures etc. the less people will get bored and find things to complain about. |

This is exciting, and a welcomed addition!
I also echo the concerns that the current pacing for releasing outposts will take half a decade just to finnish the initial line of structures. There's a great thread about using crashed ships for a large socket. It would be a shame if we had to wait 5 years to see that kind of thing because the team is so backlogged with just getting the initial structures out there. |
