Having tanks and vehicles is nothing new lol. The thread is a joke, trying to legitimise your use of tanks with obvious reasons that have been around for at least a decade, when all you needed to say was they're part of the game and I enjoy them.

Attention seeking at its finest.

I'm glad there are tankers who got into vehicles for these reasons. I'm not sure if you can speak for all tankers, though those who speced into tanks for these reasons are the tankers that will go far because its what the like doing in dust.
Hopefully the ones who do only want to buff their kdr etc will stop tanking and go into something else.

Don't forget my personal #1 reason for tanking.

I don't feel like investing SP into a "better" version of what's already free. I'll **** anyone up with a militia scrambler pistol, and if it's tougher to do, so much the better. Just means while infantry pump sp into getting better fits, I'm getting better at actually playing the game, WHILE gaining access to something that is not available for free.

in other games, you cant personally invest your time or skill into driving vehicles, you just hop in them and go, in this game, you have to put personal investment to be able to call them in. big differencce

Hate to break it to ya but I was playing an MMO, that had skills,xp/sp, character and build customisation oh and vehicles that cost ingame currency for each one, wayyy back in 02 and were in 2013, 11 years in the future and no other game uses it besides this.

Once again all of you are making false claims of why we use tanks, whether it be "to buff up your K/Dr", "show up as highest on the leaderboards", "never die", etc etc, iv seen many many false claims from infantry as to why we skill into tanks. Also, you should realize that kd doesn't mean **** in this game, you cant buy more equipment with a kdr, you can only do that with ISK.

These are the reasons:

1. We are tired of the same old FPS bull that we see in nearly every single game weve ever played, skilling into vehicles gives us excitement of something new being offered to us.

2. It is far more challenging than using a gun, we want a little bit of a challenge but not to where we don't enjoy tanking at all (we are at that point).

3. The income we get from destroying other vehicles with our own is greater than that of killing infantry, we don't really care about getting infantry kills unless they are using AV.

4. We love the thrill of going against other vehicle pilots and colliding with our fittings and skills to see who is superior and where we can adjust to get better.

5. The vehicle battles are awesome to be part of, I love it when I have other tankers on my team and we fight against enemy tankers through the match, its MUCH more fun than just killing infantry.

6. We like to use the biggest weapons in the game to how we like them.

7. Its new, it should be exciting.

8. This is not meant to be a normal boring old FPS like COD, BF or Halo.

9. We like to be different, we don't want to follow the crowd and use what literally everyone uses all the time.

10. Diversity.

11. We just love to blow things up.

please actually read these reasons why we skilled into tanking in the 1st place and understand that you are completely wrong as to why we role with vehicles.

These are definitely my reasons for skilling into tanks. I may share some of the reasons with other tankers, but I know these aren't the only reasons also. so any other tankers that want to give their reasons please do.
