There is literally no way to beat this glitch head on. I've watched Arirana run through seven people in a row instantly and effortlessly, and it sure as hell isn't skill. The only way to stop him is to kill your own team mates in the process. And even then, it almost always backfires.
I've had my own guys tell me that if I get a clean shot with my forge and it kills them, just ******* take it. They are going to be dead anyway. |

I only read the first two pages, but a lot of people seem to think Ari is in a scout suit. He's not, it's female caldari assault. Yet another suit that's faster/tougher/stronger than all scout suits... |

You on the other hand seem to be trying every half-assed excuse to cover for Ari when you could have just asked him to stop and play fair. Now it's too late and everyone is an uproar about it and you, my friend, share just as much responsibility as Ari does. |

This is actually kind of kick ass, imo...
I mean, it certainly makes Myrofibral Stimulants look a hell of a lot more appealing. I don't think it should be fixed so much as balanced and limited to where it's a massive stamina drain, would make for some really amazing CQC.
Maybe not so much a one-hit-kill mechanic but definitely should be a valid option, of which Melee currently isn't. |

I run a Cardiac Regulator and am able to kill Heavies in a couple seconds with nothing but melee. I know we are supposed to be super soldiers but when did the elbow outclass the gun? |

Set melee damage to 1 until you can fix the glitch. Its sloppy (and temporary) but it would work. |

You don't understand how bad this is.
In a PC match you have to devote almost all of your attention to where Ari is and how to kill him. Most of the team does.
Its so distracting you can't even focus on the other 15 players, or god forbid, taking objectives.
The exploiting of this is far more insidious than it looks on paper or from third person. |

Oh man, people always try to use dirty ass tricks, but I also think CCP should get rid of exploiters, just erase there damn chars who caught cheating and thats it. Heck CCP didn't even need to erase alot of chars, just some to scare them away, and if somebody is this famous about being a cheater, somebody should erase his char and punch him in the face :D |

I don't use this melee glitch, but banishment for those who have seems a tad harsh. Theoretically, Arirana should use his/her shotgun at point-blank range ... the fact that he/she doesn't is directly related to the fact that the SG doesn't work well (if ever) at point blank range. It is currently not possible to strike with the knives x3 in just 0.5 seconds as Zatara thought it did due to the fact that the knives can only strike as fast the animation can process which doesn't seem to be affected by sprint like the melee currently is. It's just the illusion of rapid strike due to the 1k damage that proto knives can deal when fully charged and fully skilled into with complex damage mods. |

Ya'll are also forgetting that Arirana is also using the "permanent sprint" bug as well. By attempting a scan and interrupting it with a sprint, you get locked into always sprinting. It is the combination of 2 separate bugs that makes it the ultimate CQC warrior. You can tell that he and others are using the perma-sprint by the "flashlight" they are always holding when they run at you.

This is honestly true - mainly because people haven't exploited it in the competitive side known as PC. But now that one of the best known corps is doing it to stay relevant it's become a problem. That may seem odd to some - but it's understandable. Dust sucks enough as it is - why ruin the only good side about dust - the competitive play? I'd like to think we'd be at least a little relevant even if ari didn't do it. Guess we wouldn't be? :( damn

I don't see why Melee is so powerful anyway, you're more likely to die from a single bullet than being punched in the back of the head. I can understand it in killzone, where you're cutting throats, gouging eyes or stabbing people.
I suppose a quick fix to this would be making powerful Melee attacks a skill like the weapons, etc. A good counter for that would be if someone who initiates Melee against another with the same skill leveled up, maybe have the "victim" tap a button quick enough that could break the attack. Depending on the level difference, that would determine how much time the victim had to break the attack. For example, a melee guy level 5 attacking a guy level 2, obviously the level 2 guy would have a rough time, and probably lose it. But, if the attacker was a level 3 and the victim was level 5, it would swing into the 5's favor. And if the melee was broken successfully, stun the attacker for a moment (losing balance or something similar). |
