Still think something needs to be done about Nade spam. So far out of 5 matches I've played all but one death has been due to Nade spam.
The reduction wont affect those who use them smartly and cook them when they need them, it will affect those that just spam the **** out of them.
I went up against a Protobear yesterday, got a hit off with my Shottie, it didn't register (Of course), back off down some stairs, all of a sudden the player starts chucking all his nades down the stairs, I made it out, but its become too conveniant to use these things when you're in trouble.
R2 is officially the 'Panic' button it seems.

I disagree. Grenades are one of the things keeping logis and scouts off the front lines. It is harder for both of them to equip a tank AND appropriate level equipment enough to survive grenades. The problem isn't grenade spam right now as much as the unreliability of hit detection. Explosives are useful for taking people out for no other reason than, they have a better hit rate. |

Standing on a Nanohive/Depot spamming nades, will never be fixed, not even with the hit detection fixes.
My passive scanning is nerfed, Scouts cant fill any support roles and now I shouldn't be allowed move up on enemies because they cant aim for ****?
Sounds absolutely fair. |

People wouldn't go for grenade spam if the hit detection mechanics worked and the hit boxes didn't sway any time a player is moving.
Even I find myself doing it, because its not fair that I aim right a guy and glue my site to his chest and nothing happens.
This is why MDs are over used and so effective as well. The precision of the hit detection is meaningless and inconsistent. 5cm bullet or an explosive with a 12-15m diameter blast zone??? Tough choice...
Explosives have their place in any shooter, even DUST. When you have a full squad bedded down somewhere, you'll want to soften them up, especially if your going at them solo. |
