Seems now, I estimated them correctly (since this next patch looked fun, but brought more problems to the table, with no additional content). I wish I could've bit my tongue when I said "I wished I could've bit my tongue" initially. |

And tanks aren't just dropping left and right to swarms. Use the active modules, don't play like you should be totally invincible, and its easy to get 10+ kills without dying. Just like in almost any dropsuit. Play smart, retreat when needed, you'll be just fine.
Drop ships are a whole other story. They need some kind of flare or something. But I've had them outrun swarms I've shot at them with almost no issue. Its rare to actually take a DS down with swarms.

While this does sound like I'm definitely not going to be pulling my vehicles out for the next month, which really sucks for the 8mil sp i have in vehicles, but there are some lights at the end of the tunnel.
First, with the changes to squad/team vision, I foresee vehicles not sticking out and drawing fire as bad as they currently do.
Then future thinking, AV countermeasures, vehicles with signature radii that affect how long a swarm launcher takes to lock on, and modules/skills to modify as needed.
Now how are they going to buff forge/AV nades so that we can get countermeasures to those...? |

Be quiet. You're not a pilot, so you don't understand. I hardly ever see a decent pilot acting like a idiot. More like, fleeing, and still dies, while going from cover to cover for a full 30 seconds or so. |

They need to change AV nades into stasis grenades with a very low (I'm talking like 50 damage) that can slow down vehicles. As far as Forges, I don't even know..... |

interesting point, i like the part were the entire enemy team no longer sees your tank whenever a single enemy aims at it, but those countermeasures are 2-5 months away |

Why doesn't CCP just give a buff to swarm damage to LAVs and leave the damage on HAVs and drop ships the same. The over buffing of LAVs is the only reason I could find that would be cause for an AV buff. HAVs are, from my experience, weak to AV because they are so slow but LAV can easily speed beyond swarms. If they do get hit, they have near the same defense of a militia HAV so the LAV is safe. No LAV should have the capability of possessing nearly the same defense as an HAV.
If HAV's hadn't been nerfed from what they were in Chromosome, I think it would have been ok. I actually enjoyed going after HAV's with squad mates due to the satisfaction of destroying up such a powerful adversary.

Once again crutch swarm users are saying HTFU and get better and use a better fit even tho we cannot improve our tanks or mods and if you drop a fully fitted tank down for these crutch users it gets blown up in a matter of seconds because tanking isnt as easy as they thought but they will defend the crutch because lol its easy
1.5 will come, i fear it wont have proto mods or hulls, i fear that really nothing good will come from it for vehiclesand that AV will prob get buffed againt because infantry>vehicles

Also have you seen a patch that didn't contain anything that wasn't in the patch notes ... how do you know there's not a slight adjustment to base resists for the different vehicles, just to smooth things over till 1.5 ... have you played 1.4 yet ?

dont try to metagame argue with me. Its not in the patchnotes, its not going to be there, changes are made in plain text. In 1.2 they said their doing rebalancing to vehicals in 1.5, that does not mean new content, its balancing what we have now. Theyve also stated in 1.1 that they are focusing on improving the game and fixing it over giving us new content. Heres some math forya, add 2 puzzle peices together, it usally equals four. If im missing any parts of the equation right the whole thing out, dont just talk about it |

"Its not in the patchnotes, its not going to be there" - If you say so ... I've been here through plenty of builds and there hasn't been one that didn't have stuff in that wasn't in the patch notes.
Rebalancing to vehicles does not mean new content no, but it does not exclude it ... ohh and by the way the Sagaris and Surya are NOT new content ! |

Fact of the matter is with an increased rate of fire, Swarmers won't be FORCED to stack damage mods in order to 'get the kill before the getaway' ... Yes it's given swarms the option of a slightly higher overall dps, but it's also opened up the option to have a slightly higher tanked fitting with equivalent dps to what we have now, or even the option of a shield tanked AV fit, which just isn't a valid choice right now. So shall we just call it a nerf to assault rifles and be done with it !? |
