By going out onto the battlefield and dying. Understand the road will be tough at first. But if you stick with it, and learn from your losses, you will be a decent merc.
And another thing, it's best to find a corporation that suits your needs to help you along. Plus there is a thread (probably on the second or third page) that has chat channel listings so you can use. That's good to meet new folks and to squad up with people. |

Pick one class and dump every bit of your SP into it. Dont branch off or youl never be good at anything, whatever you pick make sure you spec into it entirely so you become very good at it. Oh and btw, your f*cked |

Get a logistics lav, the shield one preferably. Make sure you skill into it first. Then you have a mobile squashing platform of doom at your disposal!
As a fall back procedure I am quite partial to the assault rifles.
Others use grenade spam and there is also a phenomenon called mass holes, spam-tastic users of massdrivers. A massdriver is a huge noobtube with 6 shots! You will love it if the LLAV doesn't work out! |

Like most of these guys said, excluding the trolls, find a good corp and learn from them. My advise for spending your SP, sense others are giving it out, would be to not start spending them on dropsuits or weapons, invest in dropsuit upgrades. If you do that it will start to make your character much more well rounded and will make your future fittings much easier with better survival mods and higher CPU/PG for your suits.
Good luck, and just to let you know the road is going to be a long and tough one. But, don't get discouraged, we have all been there at one point. |

Thanks alot guys! Yerp im fcuked... haha but rest assure I'll make it through. And I shall delete my previous soldiers as I kinda spend my sp and isk on unnecessary stuffs and skills. Haha... ouh so I could join a corp as a newbie? Any friendly corp to recommend? I assumed I need to carve my path in the instant battles. Thanks for the support! |

Depends on who you're proving it to.
Proto tryhard with AR gets you into PC but not much respect on forums.
A TRUE logi gets you respect from most no AR assault players that understand the value of teamwork.
Being a sniper that headshots guys out of LAVs from across map proves you're worthy of being a sniper in Dust.
Surviving one guy with proto AV nades coming at your tank earns you every tanker's respect out there.
Working with the Mango proves your dedication to harmony.
Harmony is similar to friendship.
Friendship = Magic.
Magic = OP.
Clearly, the Mango = OP. |

Best thing to do if I was a brand new player IMO? Skill sniping..you'll be extremely fimiliar with the redline soon enough, takes skill to aim with a sniper and you're lack of sp will be minimized by maxing out handheld weapons upgrades and get proficiency five on the sniper rifle and snipe while you level **** up...as your name becomes feared and people send you hatemail continue speccing into the skills to specialize into whatever character you want (figure out what you want on an alt to avoid wasting precious sp) and then gradually transcend from being a sharp shooting sniper into the realm of **** bums that inhabit this game. Let your notoriety come from your game and not your forum trolling (unless you're related to SoTa PoP) and make as many friends as possible by squading up as much as you can. Never join more than 6 chats or you'll lag. And make sure you get a working mic. Best of luck. |

Wait a minute...more than 6 chats causes lag? I've got to tell my buddy that, he's always lagging, freezing and having to drop out of the squad. So that's the problem...

You could help take out LAVs. I noticed that more and more people are just ignoring them and not actively engaging them. I'm biased, but if I were you, I would dump every skill point into the forge gun. Once you get good enough, you will be able to one shot infantry and take out any vehicles on the map. |
