I'm sure they will show us a grand movie trailer with grand vision featuring grand gameplay on a grand scale made up of grand weapons of combat.
They'll say it's coming SoonGäó and then we'll never get it. CCP makes their money off of speculation.
Incarna was supposed to be full on Walking In Stations after about five years of CCP talking about it and showing movies about what they wanted to develop.
It went poof and now we're stuck in our Captain's Quarters.
I'm sure a knockoff FPS shooter thumbed off to a Chinese development team isn't going to get anywhere quicker. |

Does it even matter what they release as far as info anymore?
We already know any of the title saving updates are all a long way off, if they ever even make the light of day for the PS3 version of this game.
September 17th is getting here too fast for me to really care about Dust anymore. The GTA Online trailer has me hyped up beyond belief for October 1st.
No matter what laughably underdeveloped crap they try to hype up, we have already seen how it will get delivered: late, buggy, and poorly thought out. |

So a third game in the bowl while EVE and Dust 514 at it's current state are just vary vaque connected, heck we don't even have an open market in Dust, not to speak of a connection between the markets....
I like this enthusiasm from CCP, but if other dev studios have so much time that the set up new games because they're bored, I guess the Dust devs would gladly take every helping hand, and the community too.
the problem with big events like gamescom etc. is that theres way to much pressure to fight against for a game like Dust. Concenctrate on the playerbase try, finally, to interact with the community instead of trying to catch new customers. CCP should use the time more wise and effectively by working on their game and actually work with their customers, because in all honestly, everybody who is not looking for a game like Dust will download it play 3 matches and insta erase it. Sad but true, we all know this.
I could bet they pronounce the port from ps3 to ps4, just for the press....... |

Its possible, but the thing is we are still waiting for the most basic of interactions beyond orbital bombardment from EVE as it is, an undeveloped third game tying into the underdeveloped second game when it isn't tied into the developed first game is just laughable, especially with CCP's track record of "make promises --> promises? what promises?" |

Your right I'm such an idiot!. I knew you would swoop in and save me from my ignorance! Now I will stop being sarcastic and get serious.
I really do appreciate what you and the rest of the CPM are doing. I have read all eight pages of replies from the community and CPM. The line from CCP stating that were working on this and that including a charter is growing old. What's that saying actions speak louder then words. |

There are times CCP shares something with us that well... even if it weren't NDA it wouldn't be worth the hate sharing that information as CPM members hence the whole NDA in the first place. Best we can do is poke CCP about sharing it but alas they too have standards to follow in business practices as well.
Overall the meeting was a good step forward as it gets the CPM a step closer to being a legitimate organization instead of a body of folks with no purpose or goals with noting to back them up. As of this post the CPM still doesn't have a "constitution" but its getting closer in sight and much closer to reality. If it goes through we just did in 5 months what took the CSM 5 years to accomplish. |

I for one am happy to see CCP taking on this challenge and with the positive response the demo the had at Fanfest and E3, they would be crazy not to.
It shows me that CCP still has some vitality. Most developers who where hit hard like they were with Dust 514 by fans and critics alike would have gone into the fetal position and withered away. Seen it too many times. But CCP falls back, regroups and charges ahead. Oh and by the way, here is a new project we are going to be working on.

Newcastle just supports all other studios by developing and researching technology, so things they do effect ALL games from what I understand anything from better engines, to shader techniques and net code optimization and development tools to that unity engine that is likely most responsible for the EVR. There have been some pretty amazing tech being applied to the two known games so far from CCP, I mean Dust 514 is the first unreal powered game, that to me didn't feel like its unreal powered at all and that's how far removed Dust 514 is from the original engine. |

That reminds me, does CCP have any plans to either upgrade/change the engine if possible? I know that developement for dust began when unreal was still relevant but it has been outdated for years. If anything it seems like get another thing hiding this game back from its full potential. It's too bad CCP lacks the cash/resources to crest their own graphics engine developement crew like the one that made frostbite.
Is their any possibility of hiring 3rd party devs? Preferably some that are already experienced in fps games? I would honestly pay a subscription fee for dust like people do for eve if 3rd party developement came in, put the game back in beta (free) for a couple months and released something that was actually anything close to what CCP originally showcased. |

I would honestly pay a subscription fee for dust like people do for eve if 3rd party developement came in, put the game back in beta (free) for a couple months and released something that was actually anything close to what CCP originally showcased. i thought they had their own engine,CARBON, that runs EVE. But the PS3 couldn't take it so they had to switch to a cheaper engine like unreal.
And i remember them saying a while ago that ex DICE members were going to help with Dust. you know DICE the guys who made battlefield, but i dont know if they work there or not. |

Are we still getting something new at Gamescom? Or were you simply referring to Uprising 1.4?

Am I the only one thinking that EVE VR will tie in between EVE and DUST 514 as a middle layer? the ships that can go between both?
there could be a logistics ship that supplies / heals war barges, while the offensive ships defend / attack it
the same ships can enter the atmosphere and be the jets we've been so eager of having in the game (even if we can't play it on ps3)
and they can dock / undock from the war barges / eve ships to connect.
as I said - a bridge between the 2 |

That's exactly what I was thinking, and I've made a few posts about it myself.
One can only hope that's what they've got planned. |

... Does the sun set on CCP at all? Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't it seem like what dust needs most is new technology and backbone structuring? CCP doesn't seem to be able to live up to their promises for dust on the current tech after all. I would honestly pay a subscription fee for dust like people do for eve if 3rd party developement came in, put the game back in beta (free) for a couple months and released something that was actually anything close to what CCP originally showcased. i thought they had their own engine,CARBON, that runs EVE. Carbon is like frostbyte its a multi-headed engine with many various smaller parts and other parts can be ran or plugged into the engine including unreal 3, unity, destiney (eve physics) and much much more. Dust is still technically running the Carbon engine, just not the graphics component. |

as I said - a bridge between the 2 From what I've heard EVE Valkyrie will not be connected to the single shard universe, rather it will be its own little thing. |
