Just as the title says. Have had up to 15 nanohives out at once and noticed that sometimes it works fine, sometimes I get no points for awhile then a huge jump in WP at once with no (or occasional) notification(s) of points accumulating OR it doesn't do anything then disappears giving me nothing while still repping and resupplying my team while active on map (no flux or enemy fire to cause them to fail). As long as my team is getting theirs, I don't really care, but if keeping it down to 5-7 is all I need to do to keep earning WP regularly I will do that. So I just wondered if anybody knew of a max equip cap you can hit that causes the "glitch".
Any info would be appreciated. Again, not gonna stop completely, but info may cause me to curtail my drops I have out at once.
P.S. The "no points" option above generally only happens when I build a pyramid with my hives (got bored, so sue me), but has happened when spaced out as well. |

For hives I believe there is a soft cap per merc per nanohive. So if you put one down and your teammate resupplies, you'll get 10 WP. If he goes away and resupplies again after a certain time interval you'll get another 10 WP. If you have 10 nanohives in one place, then theoretically you could get up to 10x10 WP assuming each hive replenished some of his ammo (usually you get a lot less than this because his ammo is maxed out by 5-6 hives in one cycle). Of course, if 10 teammates all resupply in your ten hives then you can get a lot more WP in one cycle.
TL;DR the more hives you have out, the more WP you'll get. Triage hives are beasts for earning WP. However if you're dying in those proto hive suits then it might be counterproductive ISK-wise to keep laying them out. Usually I only spam my blue bubbles near a supply depot.
To answer your original question, the max number of hives that any one merc can put out is 25 (including Aurum ones and the militia BPO nanohive). |

....but again, I notice issues when I get up around 15 at a time. I know how the points are SUPPOSED to work (such as shutting off if used too much or too quickly to "cool down", triage gives more points than resupply, and there are max nanite cluster amounts for each hive), but when I get around 15 hives active on a board I sometimes get no points at all even when squadmates are using them (so I know they are recieving benefits). I've had more than that and has worked, but sometimes not.
I know there is a "theoretical" cap that that is supposed to be the total number of available hives there are, but I'm more interested in the "practical" application of mass nanohive use. Thus, I can see where the question asked was not quite what I was looking for. So I guess the appropriate question is to ask if there is there a limit to what the system/server/game can handle from 1 merc at 1 time? Just seeing if I'm the only one who has tried this, and if not, has anyone had the same issue. |
