I don't understand why we have weapons with longer ranges than the draw distance and shortening ranges is out of the question. I don't care how you do it, but remove active SP from redlining and increase draw distance to 1000m. Thanks. |

So you don't want people to be in the redline, but we need to be able to see a 1000 meters?

Logic. You must feel very smart for saying that. You are, perhaps, someone who fights in CQC, often, and doesn't want a long draw distance because it means someone could kill you from far away.
Give me one reason why there should not be a longer draw distance (ps3 hardware, aside). |

It's just a bull excuse. BF3 has MUCH better graphics, destrucion, BULLET PHYSICS. And player models NEVER disappear on me! EVER!
With how crappy Dust looks, the draw distance should be infinite. |

bad weather.
not to mention if they added an extra zero to the draw distance our frame rates would drop to pre closed beta levels, and trust me, you do not want that. |

Unreal Engine is crap on the PS3, expect major improvements from a move to PS4 (much more than justified by the increased hardware specs).
Sadly, right now the game can't even maintain 30 FPS as it is, so increasing drawing distance seems to be out of the question.
Creating an engine of Frostbite calibre (BattleField's in-house engine) is no mean feat. Clearly CCP tried but then decided that switching to UE would be the more efficient solution. We'll just have to live with that for now, until the PS4 comes along. |

I'd blame the development team long before I blamed the engine. We've got a group of people developing a game of a genre they have no experience with, for a platform they have no experience with, and with an engine they have no experience with.
The bottom line is CCP's team just doesn't really know what they are doing and are learning as they go. |

We need a draw distance system similar to that of skyrim- it stays low by default, but increases if you look through a scope. |

600 M sounds like a decent draw distance for characters and vehicles... If only they could fix this new clipping issue with the characters and walls... which didn't happen when the draw distance was much higher BTW... |

Or perhaps have draw distance scale based on your current dropsuit, as different layouts give you different effective ranges |

There must be potential to verify as far as you can shoot. Bring back long range 2D tags if the processor can't handle animating. I suspect this may be in place to distract from a one way sniper fire terrain bug before it's fixed. |

Give me one reason why there should not be a longer draw distance (ps3 hardware, aside). Sniper rifle/forge gun/swarms/etc.. all have perfect or too far of a range as it is.
Until there is some incentive to not be in the redline there shouldn't be a change to render distance. Hell, remove all WP/SP/ISK gain while you're in 50 meters of your redline. Hiding in the redline may be a viable tactic but it's among other things that is completely ruining the game. |

If you're using a weapon that doesn't have a high effective range, you can see units in the distance, but you can't see with the clarity you would having a weapon with a scope, which makes it practical, not training for better graphics |

I don't think the redline is "Ruining the Game"..... There is a redline in pretty much every FPS that doesn't use the invisible border gimmick. Redline is akin to saying "If you cross this line you risk landmines/mortar bombardment". Battlefield does redline.....& there are praises sung-a-plenty. From what I gather the MCC &/or Concord draws these lines. Draw distance increase is a necessity to combat, or at least avoid, the redline sniper. It is only more difficult to combat b/c of terrain rendering issues ala "Head Glitching". If you can see it, you may avoid it or fight it. At least you will see the tracer/pathing of the redliner with proper rendering.....as opposed to the LOLtastic invisible Swarms, Forges, & Sniper Rifle fire we have now, where the only thing you see is an explosion, hit splash, indicator flare, or the BSOD (Black Screen Of Death)......... |

Tell that to my Rail Turret as an Installation goes "Casper" @ CQC Range...... Rendering is completely borked at the moment.....try again |
