We all know for a fact that CCP has plans to incorporate an Eve-style free-market system into Dust during the next 5 years as part of their long-term road map.
But I'm curious to know how many of you guys are comfortable with this concept? Are you ok with seeing players have full control of the future in-game economy and its future industry where players dictate the prices of minerals and items that other players buy and where monopolies and scams are encouraged by CCP?
How many of you would rage quit after realizing that you overpaid so much ISK to a player for an item that turned out to be cheap?
How many of you would rage quit if you fell victim to an in-game ponzi scheme while CCP tells you to HTFU?
How many of you would cry foul if Goonfeet were to burn the economy while CCP sits idly by saying "F-CKING BRILLIANT"? |

There needs to be many things before full integration is possible
1 - Player to player trading 2 - Some sort of harvesting or item creation to happen DUST side 3 - DUST to be able to create its own full economy first
For full integration to work, DUST needs to have equal footing with EVE in terms of market power. Mercs cannot simply be buyers or it will fail miserably. How that will happen is anyones guess. |

That's not the point of this thread.
This thread is asking how many of us here would get extremely intimidated by this concept and rage at the first sign of foul play in the market?
CCP already knows what to do in regards to incorporating the economy of two games. That's why it's a 5-year plan. |

It will force people to grow up a bit and take responsibility for their actions. If you fall foul of a scam, it's nobody's fault but your own and nobody is going to pick you up and tell off the big bad boys who stole your lunch money.
The less mature players will struggle but it will add so much more to the game, especially in terms of meta; it can only be a good thing. |

I'm interested in finding out, my only concern however is that economy wise we're going to be a tertiary industry, right now we exist only to consume goods and fight each other, we have no other purpose, we put nothing into Eve's economy, we serve only as a ISK sink, the fact that unless something changes we'll be stuck in our markets is another issue, in eve if something is overpriced in hits you can just go to another trade hub, unless we're allowed to move around our quarters we'll lack that.
We need to be able to provide to Eve's economy as a primary industry, that means as a whole we'll be able to affect the economy to a degree, because if all we can trade in is gear things are going to suck. I'm sure CCP has plans in place and plenty of ideas but we haven't seen anything of them. |

Um. You will be exposed to that. If you go onto Eve right now, the only NPC items you will find are civilian modules which are so weak they are not worth anything beyond tutorial missions. Every ship, module, ammo, mineral, etc. is built, bought, and sold by the players. That's going to happen here in Dust in the next 5 years. |

The market in New Eden is not "free" and there is plenty opportunities to make your own stuff via minig and some PI in New Eden. There is also plenty NPC sellers/buyers/manufacturers who really keep tabs on pricess. All the players can do to market is influencing average prices and price history graphs. NPCs do what CCP, not players, tells them...
Don't worry. There will be no mini blackholes consuming New Eden "free" market in a puff of smoke... |

If you came to Dust for any reason other than this, then you came to Dust for the wrong reasons. It doesn't matter if you're comfortable with it or not. That's a mistake on the part of the player. |

Fair enough but my point is that most players should be somewhat skilled in an open economy by time EVE and DUST would be fully integrated. By that time it wont be lambs going to the slaughter but wolves facing off against wolves.
Asking players now when few have any EVE experience is just going to be a shot in the dark

I'm on board with this 100%. Honestly, I'm very disappointed that the in-game economy wasn't available on "release". They have experience with it, it should have been one of the first things to be designed.
Well, seeing as how they can't get the core FPS mechanics right, I guess I'm not really surprised. |

I know a lot of people will feel this way. I would be satisfied if most of the production is done Eve side. Everything else can just be done by specifying buy and sell orders for your assets and what not. |
