Still another game reviewer who judges the game without even hitting 1 million SP, if you don't invest time in Dust you won't like it. Even the thing about not knowing about the lore was wrong, when I first came in I knew nothing but after about a month of sticking with it I started learning more and more. How many years are you going to sit here and play this dull loby shooter?
Its not a spreadsheet in space, its a lobby shooter, quit comparing eve and dust's launch success. Do you really think dust at this pace can keep up with any other persistant shooters? Just look at the content Planetside 2 has released in 8 months, sht tons of content, fixes and re-mapping. Dust has crawled to a near halt, because the $$$ is not coming in at the moment, so the employees are few and too far between.
My god what a fanboi, game gets 4.5 and he says I recall when eve launched..... lool siccos |

Someone already posted how your wrong, which you are. 6 weeks for a proto gun, good math. All you do is bad mouth this game, if you don't like it go play something else. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time then to fill up the forums with your bs? Constructive criticism is what the forums are SUPPOSED to be about. If i spec into a lvl three weapon and i use aur to get the proto version im still lacking two tiers of the perk. is that really pay to win? am i gaining that much of an advantage? Not to mention that there are players that are specced into thing but will use aur to save aome isk to save for the future....People ***** too much because they don't get exactly what they want, just like real life. A very accurate review for the most part.
Surprising that fresh eyes can immediately work out what most of us have taken a year to get to.
The only part I really disagreed with (as noted ad infinitum by other posters here) is the 'pay to win'. Definitely not, I suspect he didn't notice that all AUR items have an Isk equal etc. Officer weapons are far superior.
I also agree with his comments on farm equipment to racing cars. As it is now DUST is really not particularly outstanding, if this was it, I would never touch it again, its all potential that keeps me here. Sadly as someone who played EVE from 2005 onwards, it was far superior in its early years to this in comparison, maybe not graphics but the gameplay was incredible, and unique.
To the PS2 bunch, i've been playing it for a few months on and off, and have to say it shoves P2W in your face just as much if not more. Want to grind 100 cert points a night for the next 10 nights to unlock that nice new shotgun, or just pay 700 Store Credits (Aurum) for an immediate unlock? P.S. thats probably the best part of $10 per unlock at that price.
I have to say the basic mechanics of DUST are far better, despite the massive (and meaningless) content in PS2. Turrets that turn as fast as you can move your mouse, mass hacking and bizzare bouncy and fast movement mean that while fun, its hard to take seriously. DUST is far more realistic.
And the bunch saying 'but its not 4.5, its 45!!!'. Well, explain to me what the difference between 4.5/10 and 45/100 is please Sweet JC how stupid are you? Sorry for the insult but sometimes it really is justified. |

Sorry but grinding (alot of guns in Planetside 2 are 500 and 750 certs BTW) 1000 certs in Planetside 2 takes half as much time as unlocking a useable proto gun in dust. Plus in dust you have to upgrade tons of side skills just to get the gun to fit a suit, so the entire proto fit is like a 3-4 month grind, or just buy it (P2W) within a few days with dust. PS2 there is no side grind, if you want the gun you grind, you dont have to grind 5 side skills just to fit the gun. Lool. PS2 has there system much better refined for f2p IMO.
Lets be honest here guys, dust is the biggest grind in fps history. Just admit it and the game might get better.
Oh and PS2 doesnt constantly tell you to buy Station cash like dust does with the market page constantly showing pay guns and the lady in the Lobby having numerous lines saying things like "Do more with Aurum" "Do more faster Aurum" " "..Purchase Aurum today" really no comparison, considering these things dont exist Planetside.
That is a no bs post in comparison, and a 4.5 is pathetic for Dust compared to Planetside 2's dozen or more GOTY awards. Review score was padded IMO, I would give dust a 3/10. |

The issue is the game has been in developement for 8 years, I personally have been playing for over a year and VERY VERY little has been done. I mean entire games are built in a year, what is so complicated with dust? It is the fact ccp has never built a fps and they believe they have all the time in the world, because they built eve and it took time. Also with only 28 people working on dust not much can happen. If profits were viable more would be brought in but we all know dust is not profiting ATM.
