Several times i will run an assault suit with a rep tool and heal people near objectives that have forgotten to heal up at a supply depot. Logis try out the support weapons like MD, Pcan, Flaylock, Flux. Your offensive role is similar to that of a heavies, to weaken enemy defenses for the frontliners all the while increasing your teams defenses.
Logi is a tricky role to fill, the good ones can be found doing 0-10 with 2-3k wp, the ones that perform offensively without playing their role do usually less than 1k wp.

I do have an infinite load out as a medic in order to revive and heal people. Though its pretty dumb when the people I try and heal run away with only half of their shield and armor regenerated, and the people I do revive are stupid enough to run right back into the line of fire without giving me a chance to repair them But it does vary from battle to battle, and I do usually find a safe spot where I stay and people can come and get repaired during heavy traffic battle.

If you can't survive the revive attempt now that you have lower HP, why the hell would you try and revive someone before? The worst crime a logi can commit is reviving someone into a hail of gunfire. Apparently you don't think this is a problem.

This is true, both of those factors greatly diminish overall survival of any Merc in a Logi suit... and that was before CCP nerfed the eHP on all Logi suits due to the hate towards the Cal Logi skill buff But for some reason there are a lot of players in this game who think that a Logi should be slower, have weaker eHP, have a lower dps potential and yet still somehow be present in combat zones with exactly the piece of equipment they desire at the right time... oh and know which one they want without having them on comms to actually call out what they're looking for All I can say is thank the Jovians for organized squads.

Im a Gallente logistics :I It's amazing, even after more than one Dev blog and several threadnoughts in both Gen and Feed sections people still suffer from the misconception that all Logi = Cal Logi with the racial buff and stacked extenders. /shakes head Besides which assuming that all the guys in the yellow Cal suits running the TAR with contact nades are actually Logis who've somehow gone "power made" because of the HP and thus started playing that way is just silly. Those guys are/were assault players who picked up the Cal suit with no intention of ever doing Logi work. They saw the numbers on that racial buff and made it the new assault, which wouldn't have even worked as well as it did if not for the rather OP weapons most frequently used and the over nerf on the LR taking one of the viable counters to a high shield build effectively out of the game meta. Himiko Kuronaga, you're either trolling or simply have no effective knowledge of what mechanically goes into playing a support role within D514. 0.02 ISK Cross

I thought the backpack is actually your shield generator And Gallentes don't even have a backpack. and they dont even have shields so much for the Gallente "putting a premium on human life".

I run an ADV Cal Logi (still manage to fit decent gear with some creative fittings) and at times i find myself yelling at my squad mates to back off as the are about to die (some assaults get lost in the moment and we need to reel them back in). In a way we are the secret squad leads advising and maintaining the squad alive and the TEAM supplied with the necessary advantages need for the win. if i see you go down I will 'needle you and at times try to shield you while repping.

Its too rare to find people to rep, and since I'm a better shot than most blue-dots I can't spend time repping them as they miss the enemy ten feet in front of them. I am far more effective running with this equipment than trying to use a Repair Tool. Yes, I will go after people who are downed and get them back up with 80% armor. I'll drop Nanohives wherever I can find a good spot for one (choke-point, where someone is suppressing the enemy, etc). Uplinks go in hiding spots as close to the fight as its safe to. And I saw someone say it already: Cal Logis were rarely logis this patch in the first place, but by no means are they the only logis out there. Yes, I know there were some real Cal logis (have a few in my corp), but most were just Assault players taking advantage of the bonuses and not being logis at all. Even now, if I see a Cal Logi in-game I still think he'll be useless at his role, just going for kills (kinda like running from Shotguns, Lasers and Flaylocks...). Gal and Min logis, on the other hand, usually will at least try to be logis (I have a hard time picking Amarr logis from Amarr assault players, and rarely see either in the first place...) since they specced into those suits to be logis. But yes, most blue-dots are, well, stupid. Randoms are the worst, but I have had people in well-known corps act like them as well, ignoring the Uplinks close to the letters, not getting ammo/reps from a hive, bleeding out just before I get to them (even after calling for help)...
