This is one of the major and most stupid topics to be brought up on/in EVE Dust 514. When you start off "blueberry" you play to learn the game and earn SP. Now that's you've grown your character and know everything about the game; such as which character you find the best, equipment you wish to use ect. now you have to play 2 months just to start getting the things you want. NOW WHY ARE THE IGNORANT BEING PUNISHED. I take that as a giant middle finger to me Mr. Game operators. Personally I am quitting the game until at least 1 SP re-set is issued per character. "seems reasonable" I ask everyone to join me in this or well just see how much the game cares about players, PAYING players at that. |

In protest to this thread, I will be buying a merc pack.
Also, who do you think a respec would benefit more? Those with 15m SP or those with 2m SP? FotM hoppers ftw. |

There should be a one-off for newer players, say after 1 million SP. This to somewhat compensate them for the awful lack of a tutorial or in-game support to help you figure all this out.
Played with 2 randoms last night who had the same exact problem. They were learning the ropes in the academy skilling into different things to try them out and only realised too late that trying things out is "stupid". |

LOL, this is just like eve online where rookies start investing SP in mining as they receive 5000isk for mining an asteroid. Then discover that mining in slow and not really a good idea.

Us vets wnt really benefit from a respec but we all remember how hard it was at first, and to help these new players and to keep them around I think a respec at 1 or 2 mil sp would help |

Go ahead, just be sure to come back! You'll have extra passive SP banked. I'm personally in the no-respec crowd, but I wouldn't be surprised or upset if we get one more within the next 1 year. |

Ahem...
No, you are not entitled to a respec!
The arguments are many and varied against respecs. The arguments for are always the same, and always flawed. You are able to gain an unending amount of SP. You are also able, as a functioning human being, to make choices and live with those choices. If you don't like your character... make a new one. If you don't like where you spent your SP... play the game and earn more. |

In the next two months, every single logi suit (possibly every medium suit), every single AV weapon, and every single vehicle will be changed.
Its very possible every infantry suit will be rebalanced in the 'infantry balance pass of 1.4" and even if they don't, after logi changes in 1.4, there will still need to be scout changes and possibly some heavy changes.
After racial variants come out, there will once again probably have to be a rebalance pass for those suits/vehicles.
Informed decisions my ass, NOTHING you spec into will be the same by the end of the year.

Makes since to a degree skill planning in Dust is suppose to be long term some players pick up sooner then other. To me this is a call to CCP to make it easier on noobs better tutorials, more starting sp, skill tree tutorials, etc etc... |

I mean no offence but this is by far the weirdest explanation, to date, on behalf of respec. You donGÇÖt protect your account with a password, or more likely someone in your household has free access to your PS3 with the password neatly saved there, and for that you should get a respec? Because someone you most likely know went and played the game on your account, with or without your permission, and did something stupid? What would you do if this same person had played any other game you have on your console and hindered your progress?
I feel sorry for you if you lost a lot of SP, but this is really not the correct reasoning for having one. It might be a good idea to allow new characters (letGÇÖs say under 2mil SP) to get one-time respec purely because they probably made some mistakes somewhere, but IGÇÖm still behind the guys that say GÇ£no respecsGÇ¥. Almost every game has something new you need to learn, how you want to learn them, is up to you.

If people had tutorials and actually knew what to do with their SP then we wouldn't have as much of a problem and the minority that do mess up will be able to ask anybody for help and then buy that upgrade instead once they have the SP.
I think that SP should be boosted at lower levels to make mistakes less painful for new players. There should also be some slightly stern message implemented within the tutorial which establishes the fact that unwise decisions can be costly. Without scaring the player away of course.

You want an SP reset? Ok, fine by me. Enjoy starting over at zero SP.
Just letting you know that in this community, a RESET is considered to be equivalent of starting over with ZERO SP for your character. What you are probably talking about is a RESPEC which basically allows you to rearrange the SP you already have. In that case, tough it up buttercup. You ain't getting any. |

The problem isn't a lack of re-specs, it's that they remade the skill tree in Uprising making one necessary back then. Suddenly people could put a few months worth of SP into a single build (the SP sinks, increased cost and removal of generic skills didn't help ofc). |

btw OP, i have an alt i hardy play, with close to 3million SP, it has lv 5 in armor and shield upgrades, CPU and engineering. It also has lv5 in handheld weaponry upgrades. Currently i am still filling out all the other core skills that don't follow any specialisation, excluding vehicles.

total cop-out. if you spent sp on a weapon that was obviously buffed, sorry about your luck. if you spent sp on a suit that was obviously poorly balanced, sorry about your luck.
