I think a good grenade for the Amarrians would be to make a grenade that can block access to certain areas temporarily such as a willie-Pete grenade or something incendiary similar to the thermobaric damage of Amarr laser technology. I say a grenade you can cook and throw that creates an impassible thermofield for a couple seconds that could be used to block access to areas especially building areas or narrow path areas. Higher tiers would have bigger blast radius/Damage/ or Duration for game balance. Anyone who tries to charge through will take heavy damage to shields and damage to Armour proportionate to time spent in the AoE. It could set suits on fire temporarily or it could even be used to set vehicles on fire and take passive damage as how when vehicles had armour burn when they took critical damage but since that has been removed not sure if that could be reimplemented for a grenade but it is just a thought. |

It's like the reverse of a black hole. Where if you were nearby, a piece of you would get stretched into a reaaaaallly thin long strand as it goes in. |

Not sure if this is something that is in the vision of DUST514, but it's definitely cool to talk about :) Yeah, the Shock Grenades in Red Faction 2 would do that. Invert all inputs from the sticks.

This is a very interesting idea, and could easily fit into the Canon. Stasis webifiers in Eve work by shooting ribbons of energy that slow down ships, this sounds very similar. It doesn't even need to bend space/time necessarily, though that is a particularly awesome interpretation. But an entanglement/slowing grenade would be a great addition, and could lead to all sorts of emergent tactics.
Ofcourse I think that the laser rifle should fire through this normally, as half of light speed is still instantaneous at battlefield ranges. Hell, that's even more reason for it to be an Amarr invention.

I like the idea of distorting space in some way though. This makes me want to come up with an idea for a heavy amarr weapon like this now. Imagine a giant cannon type gun that could push tanks and send players/LAVs flying with a huge amount of force. Imagine Force gun from dead space, but on a larger scale.
Longbow grenades already sucks in Borderlands....... Blast that makes ennemy avoiding bullet ? Stupid.
