NO
Fixing and polishing what is already in place should take priority over new stuff which most likely will just add a bunch of new problems. Why add more problems before fixing the old ones? |

There are tons of much better games out there that lets me shoot at zombies, nazies or whatnot. Leave PVE for the AAA-games.
Dust barely has a playerbase as it is, splitting it up even further is not a good idea. I don't see any reason for Dust having PVE at all, who would want to shoot at some pre-programmed bots when we have real people to shoot at? It doesn't make any sense to me.
You're not the only person who said this, but you did it concise enough to quote :-)
If the PVE we are talking about is a zombie/horde mode then unless is designed simply as a mild distraction (minimal/no ISK and SP gain so no one can complain about the inevitable bugs and glitches from minimum resource development) then NO.
If we're talking about the range of PVE like in EVE (too broad to go into fully...) - where we earn resources that can be traded on a free ( and EVE) market - PVE sites that can be 'invaded' by others (especially ones that give out the best resources) , sites that reward using stealth, sensors and hacking as opposed to Cal-assault with an AR, then very much YES.
The games basic mechanics aren't great (yet), but DUST is never going to be a AAA shooter - just like EVE didn't get the numbers WoW did. Its not about trying to deliver an experience you can find somewhere else; isn't the idea of the game to capitalise on its connection to EVE? PVE is part of the package to do that - I don't mind terribly if the next big update focuses on racial symmetry and a tightened/enhanced pvp modes, but hopefully its PVE and connection to EVE they will focus on next.

Yes. I also said to Pratorian on the fanfest, and he agreed it is important to get out to keep folks playing, and what people forget is that PVE also will generate PVP players. |

My preferred first priority is getting vehicles to a place where they're as financially sustainable a career as infantry. Sounds like this should be done in the next couple of months anyway.
After that, my 2nd and 3rd priorities would be PvE and racial symmetry (i.e., Minnie+Amar vehicles, and the remaining dropsuits), though I have a hard time deciding in what order. I think the points others have made in this thread about PvE easing the new player experience (serving the role of the Battle Academy, etc.) are quite valid, so I suppose PvE wins ;)

Signed PvE should be a Priority
While Yes PvP needs to be fixed, it IS an option where PvE is NOT at the moment. It will bring a bit of new life to the game and something for small corps to do to earn ISK and build camaraderie. It is no replacement for PvP but is a good place to train and learn various aspects of the game especially for newer players. The game needs this and needs it ASAP! |

I will go with a no. What makes PvP bad also will make PvE bad (aiming, controls, etc'). Might as well improve what you have first, then add stuff later. |

New Eden is a huge universe, yet Dust 514 does not represent it with only 3 gamemodes and very few maps that all look similar, the game needs more. I am not looking for a grinding mode where you just kill mindless drones, they should implement it into the universe to have a significant effect. |

While fixes need done, for those of us who are actually playing the current offerings won't keep us engaged forever. New gameplay is a must. New PvP game modes would be welcome as well. |

I honestly do think it's time to focus on some form of PvE. Core fixes will help, but new content really needs to exist, both to provide a smoother experience for new players and to give the old ones some variety. It can still be really fun to play in a squad, but if I'm tired after a long day and just want a couple low-stress matches, it would be nice to be able to blow away some AI hordes.
Besides, are the people doing core fixes really going to be creating PvE content? Unless there's overlap between AI and core mechanics, I guess. |

Yes but I think adding the racial vehicles, dropsuits and weapons should happen first. That way all options are on the table and we can get more variety. Afterwards we could have weapons balancing, fine tuning and then most of the complaints would be wrapped up. |

As anyone who knows me would guess I'm giving my vote as a clear YES!!!
However those of you who don't know me I'll give a light explanation just for the sake of understanding. PvE will give everyone, not just us vets, something new to do. It will give newberries a place to go to avoid proto PUB stomping scrubs (There is no excuse; don't kid yourselves.) and if they do it right give vets something entertaining to do when we don't have PC matches or are bored of pub matches.

I would love some PvE for the variety.
It's not top of my list, but pretty high. I also think it would help noobs get into the game and stay. I would muuuuuch rather have spent some time in PvE to get used to the mechanics and build up some skill points before going into instant battle. Having my *** handed to me for a month straight by (what I now know are) proto-bear pub stompers was not fun. I also think it would make the vet experience a little better if noobs had somewhere to learn a bit. I doubt my teammates liked having me on their team while I shot at the MCC my first match in the game. PvE seems like win/win for noobs and vets alike. |

I think PvE content that both encourages squad play and some solo content could go a long way to keeping people from burn out.
That said, once you start PvE content, like PvP, you must keep iterating and updating said content. Otherwise burnout still occurs. I'd say people get burned on PvE quicker though, as most gamers can push through storyline/PvE in one or two sittings.

I would like to see CCP flesh out all the suits & variations of the weapons first but as this should be coming in the not to distant future I donGÇÖt see why PvE canGÇÖt be bumped up the list!
We need more/diffrent things to do in this game otherwise it will never grow past the few thousand players it has now! |
