Soda I take it ur a no then :-P lol. Also im quite sure both could be developed at the same time. Most of pve development is AI path finding the rest it shares with PvP and both can use the same assests. Frankly saying pve should not be in the game is very self centred attertude to have as there are plenty of people who get more enjoyment out of pve content then getting facerolled by you in PvP |

Signed. PvE to shake things up and try out fits that would otherwise never be used. I feel the KDR pressure in regular matches.
Variations of PvP wouldn't be bad either espeically if there was a Merc Contract style game where only a squad goes in on a structured mission and everyone else gets to play starter fits without KDR consequences. |

There are tons of much better games out there that lets me shoot at zombies, nazies or whatnot. Leave PVE for the AAA-games.
Dust barely has a playerbase as it is, splitting it up even further is not a good idea. I don't see any reason for Dust having PVE at all, who would want to shoot at some pre-programmed bots when we have real people to shoot at? It doesn't make any sense to me. |

And be honest - do you have faith that CCP would make PvE fun? Look at our maps and game modes - do you really believe they could? |

"Dividing the player base" is an asinine argument against more content. Imagine any game with a very limited set of gameplay options (an MMO with 3 quests and 2 areas, etc.). People will stop playing with nothing else to do... Because it gets boring. Say the MMO has some kinks in combat, would it make sense to not add any new elements to gameplay because you're concerned that the area populations will drop?
Fixes are good of course, but balance and tightening is a lifelong process for an MMO. The biggest issue here is a lack of meaningful dialog on it.
New ways to play and interact are what will ultimately get people playing more, as you can only run the capture/deathmatch modes so many times. pve with human, animal, or robot opponents is ideal, but even mining, market play, and mini games would be... Something. I'd rather decorate my quarters and design the ideal living space for a few hours (Animal Crossing: New Eden) than play another round of the same ole... And I hate decorating. |

The foundations are rotten and the structure is beginning to crumble. Fix the core before the whole thing goes down.

Don't use leading statmemts. It's a clear trick to make someone's mind up in order to match the tone of the question. Lawyers get told off all the time for doing it :-P:-P
Splitting up the playerbase is a **** argument as creating diffrent gamemodes for PvP would cause exeatly the same problem.
Also I hAbe no faith in their ablitly to give me good PvP content but PvE is untested so worth a shot.
Also saying you don't have faith in the company is again a needless point to make as under that argument we might as well give dust to another studio as we can't trust the dev's to give us any content weather it's PvP or pve |

Something as simple as re-introducing Skirmish 1.0, or bring some sort of "tactical gamemode" would come a long way.
Now we only have "kill all the reddots" or "keep those letters blue", I have never played any FPS which doesn't have tactical game modes being way "more tactical" than we currently have in Dust. Besides the various core mechanics this is the most important part IMO.
With "proper" gamemodes I think we can keep a lot of players and perhaps even bring back some of the FPS veterans that have left. |

PvE needs to come, right after the balancing. The next few patches should focus on making the PvP more enjoyable. Once PvE comes out our PvP needs to be perfect as the Drones will be balanced around the weapons of that area.
PvE would be a great way to integrate DUST with EVE, and not just with terrible Orbitals, check mah Signature for the thread :D

Because AI design is a difficult thing that takes extended effort to get right. CCP does not put extended effort into any one feature, ever.
