I think stacking hardeners lies at the heart of a lot of issues with tanks, there are no 'windows of opportunity' with a triple or double hardened tank.

Particle accelerator + heavy suit is perfectly viable, I mean if he is driving around alone he is completely stationary while on the turret, should be able to tag him.
