Actually, I don't have a clue. The idea popped in my head without anyone else mentioning it, but I'm sure several people thought of it when we found out Remotes became sticky in the 1.7 update.

The very first day of 1.7, goonfeet scientists discovered RE's stick to walls. Naturally our evil minds went to the next things. Can they deal damage to friendlies? FW damage? Vehicles?
From there, it was a wrap. Were we first? No way to be 100% sure but I do guarantee we were on top of RE abuse faster than stink on ****.

It wasn't hard to connect the dots. The patch notes had sticky RE's mentioned iirc and jihad jeeps are as old as the first FPS to have both explosives and player controlled vehicles. |

Suicide LAVs were being used in closed beta.
First use of them with REs attached would (obviously) have to be far more recent. No idea who it was, or how to find out, though. |

It is a pretty simple concept. I know I tried to see if they would stick back in beta. Drive into a group of people or a tank. Trying to figure out who was the first people to think of it is probably like trying to figure out which exact bean in a Mexican meal made you fart; It was probably a lot of people at around the same time. |
