i got the black screen but managed to by-pass it somehow... didn't go well. apparently if you by-pass it you don't have any weapons or grenades. i walked around unarmed.

I personally think energizers work best for sentinels. 67 hp shield rep and 7 hp armor rep on a caldari sentinel makes it so you don't need a logi as much. I think it is also more cost efficient since an ADV recharger is equal to a basic energizer...
