While I could see this for the players who just play casually, fighting and taking control of planets wouldn't really have "game modes" unless there was something like weather effects that grounded dropships (which still isn't really a game mode)....

If you set this as a subscription based game, it's no longer the free-to-play game that they originally set it out to be. I wouldn't hope that they would change it for something as minicule as XP boosters, etc. You run the risk of losing players, ...
