I turned it off when I started up the game for the first time. I've left it alone since. I'd say I win most of my gunfights, unless it's a strafing shield based suit. Then I just give up, because about 20% of my CR bullets connect.

No one wants to admit how powerful it is to watch someone's movement and orientation. All your gungame means so little when there are 3+ guns waiting for you around a corner. A lot of strategy was taken from the game when active scanners were added.
