You most definitely do not. In fact, if the round ends while you are bleeding out you get to keep your stuff. You also get back in the action sooner (depending on the map), help out a teammate by giving them 60 warpoints, and (I think) in Ambush ...

Periodically when I call in a dropship I won't be able to take off in it. I have no other apparent problems with my controls or with my L1 key, and restarting my PS3 seems to stop it for a while.
