Well then I suppose they wouldn't be called LAVs then, more like LTVs (light transport vehicles). So instead of a turret, the LTV would have 1 driver slot and 3 passenger slots.

I would have liked this idea except for the fact that we have precision strikes and mass launchers that already mimic that role. I don't see mortars as a fun gameplay addition (on both the firing and receiving end), but that's just my opinion.
